Some traffic noise from the coast road, but conversely it's only a minute's stroll to the coast-hopper bus stop and there are vast peaceful views from the bench at the front, especially in the evenings. Brilliant location for all North Norfolk coast amenities and no need to use the car.

We have been to stay at this cottage many times before and have had enjoyable stays. Un fortunately, on this occasion, the cottage had not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. Specifically, there were a large number of cobwebs and spider's webs. This was particularly so in the bedroom and bathroom. Underneath the beds and the corners of the room appeared not to have been cleaned for some time. We fully appreciate that dogs are allowed at the cottage, but this needs to be reflected in the cleaning regime, as there were substantial amounts of dog hair on soft furnishings and bedding. This then transferred onto clothes and possessions, which then had to be cleaned as a result. In conclusion, had the cleaning aspect not been so poor, we would have felt able to give a much higher overall score.

Beautifully situated for the coast, and exploring the coastline, lovely and quiet, secluded, private. Basic accommodation, as described on website. Beach 10 minutes walk away and very quiet. Road outside is also quiet and traffic not noticeable. Amenities are in nearby villages, local store is closed. Local area is beautiful, especially if you love nature. Would definitely return.

Heater broken, kettle disgusting, pots pans cutlery greasy ,worktop and table wiped but not cleaned, old breakfast cereal under cushions, Cobwebs and spiders everywhere. Spent our first day cleaning. The owner said “my expectations are too high .” I have been a manager for the camping and caravan club and if our standards were the same as apple cottage we would be closed down .

This cabin is idealy situated for bird watchers as it is on the edge of the marshes, there are lots of footpaths unfortunately the access to get to them is not very good as no footpaths along roadside and no parking. The cabin was clean but badly maintained, cobwebs and spiders were very evident, a cobweb brush would have been nice to have been used, as within 30 mins I had to get the hoover out, later on in the week the pipe on the hoover broke so we had to mend that, also the shower pipe we had to replace as it was leaking badly, the freezer door was broken, the curtains did shut properly, the taps badly need the washers replacing . the hot tap in the kitchen went over the work top and bathroom tap needed lots of turns before coming on, the toilet did not flush properly, you had to pump it to get it to flush, NO phone coverage and the wifi did not connect at all, a garden rubbish bag sat by the garden gate as we went in, that had obviously been there for some time. Having said the above, we had a nice stay was really quiet, but would not recommend this to anyone very dissapointed

Couldn't fault location and comfort of the cabin. The fact the wifi issue was not resolved is annoying especially as conflicting excuses were made.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, the WiFi Service is not reliable due to the unpredictability of the service providers. On this occasion our Sky Internet Service was recently updated, and the ‘Extender’ needed to be matched to the Router.

Since our last visit to 'The Apple House', the owner has installed a new chest of drawers in the bedroom. This fits very neatly into an alcove in the room, and lends a more spacious 'feel' to the accommodation, and improving storage capacity for guests. As previously, the cottage was spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable. The owner - who we met during our stay - a very friendly and approachable gentleman, enquired as to our welfare and comfort and was at pains to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We shall return later in the year during the Summer.

The Apple House is a clean, warm and cosy chalet/cabin style of accommodation, and is perfect for two adults. We found the property and facilities ideally suited to us, as a base for local walks and visits to neighbouring towns and villages. The owner greeted us on his arrival and is a very friendly and amenable gentleman. He enquired as to our welfare, eager to know if he could do anything further to enhance our comfort at the cottage during our stay. Facilities, such as television, excellent shower, heating, lighting, toaster, microwave oven and cooker all worked as intended and are all easy to use. The ultimate recommendation, that says it all really, is that we have booked again at The Apple House for Spring 2019. Steve and Stephanie, Wigan, Lancashire.

ideal location for birdwatching and dog walking over 80 species of birds seen in a week. Very cosy house to come back to after a day walking - perfect for two people and a dog. Hot water plentiful and shower worked very well. Wonderful view of the Salthouse Marsh. We look forward to returning one day.
