The actual cottage is the left half of the building in the photo. All windows face north. Very clean on arrival, but no book of instructions, which is unusual. No welcome pack other than a few tea bags and a small jug of milk, this again is unusual these days. Found the bedroom had very little clothes storage spaces other than a small bedside cabinet. A few shelves in the wardrobe would be handy. Found there was no roll of kitchen paper, maybe it had run out. These are not criticisms of what is potentially an excellent holiday let, but suggestions to make it even better.

We had a great week at the Annex which is in a very pretty village. The weather was perfect enabling us to explore the area. There are so many places to visit within a short drive. The owners Kevin and Geraldine could not have been more friendly and inviting. We would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage in a lovely setting. We enjoyed the little garden area, and the owners were very helpful. It was perfectly situated for us to go to a wedding at nearby Horsebridge Station and then have a little break afterwards. Local pubs are good, both in the village and in Horsebridge. Found a lovely spot to walk at Stockbridge Marsh. Nicely decorated, lovely area, good local amenities and not far to local attractions. Three things we felt could improve the stay: 1) more welcome information, particularly about what could go in which bin and where nearest petrol and big shops are located etc. 2) an electric dehumidifier. The cottage was very humid and felt damp (although no mould or damp spots evident). Our clothes and bedding felt a bit damp to the touch and a proper dehumidifier just for an hour or so a day would have improved things. 3) a footstool to go with the sofa would be nice. Otherwise, nice and functional.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner- We have been letting the annex out since 2007 and have never had trouble with damp or any complaints or comments about humidity or damp, all windows can be opened and there is a fan provided. Information regarding the bins and local area are in the back of the guest book kept in the property.

Clean, comfortable annex, helpful unobtrusive owners, a very pretty village with a welcoming, civilised pub a stroll away and Stockbridge and Winchester a short drive away. It was just what we wanted and we would happily stay there again.
