Idyllic setting however interior and facilities well below "4 star " expectations. Access very difficult and challenging. No sea view as indicated in description. Very disappointing

What a find! We had seen this cottage while we were out walking last year. Luckily it was available this year. The cottage is in a fantastic location for walks and there are glimpses of the sea. It’s such a peaceful place that we slept better than we had for a long time. The cottage is much bigger than we had thought. Well equipped, clean and comfortable. The garden is really pretty and had loads of space for our dog to run around, with the bonus of woodpeckers, jays, many different butterflies and, of course, red squirrels. We had a truly fabulous holiday here and have no hesitation in highly recommending Thatch cottage.

Lovely peaceful location. A few minor issues, the hot tap in the bathroom basin did not work. The hob only had three of the four plates working and the garden furniture is in dire need of replacing.

Good holiday, nice location, but notice that we were sharing with mice, it smelled of mice pee, and had to get rid of a mouse halfway through the holiday, it decided to say hello to me in the living room one evening, but there is obviously more than one living there. It also made its poohing area in my shopping bag which was left I the dinning room for the week. Also there is something in the roof as it kept us awake some nights when we were in bed or early evening whilst having a bath. But other than that enjoyed the stay there. Could do with some new settees as well worn.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. There is no roof space above the bathroom therefore it would be impossible for anything to make a noise up there. Due to the property’s location being near the woods/forest, as a precaution we do have Rentokil visit the property approx. every 6 months for pest control. Guests prior to and after your stay haven’t mentioned any sightings of a mouse, this could have been an isolated incident.. It’s a shame you didn’t bring this matter to our attention during your stay. No other guests have commented on this matter. We are pleased however that you had a good holiday.

Gorgeous cosy cottage, beautiful location. Peaceful and relaxing. I wish we'd booked an extra week.
