Lovely lodge in a great location. Comfortable and clean with everything you could need. Great location to travel, lovely drive to John O’ Groats, Ullapool, Thurso, Dornoch and Falls of Shin and a number of lovely beaches. Nice walk into the picturesque village of Portmahomack with friendly Castle Hotel for food and drink and location of Tarbet Ness lighthouse and stunning views. Short drive to Tain with a number of Supermarkets etc and lovely coastal walk. Would definitely recommend.

We booked this place for 4 days, and despite the initial hiccups to find the place in the midnight, would book it again. The owner is amazing and helped us in every possible way she could. Pre arrival we were given the instructions and guidance to reach the place, which turned out half a mile away from the actual location. It was really difficult to find the place in the dark. So if you arriving in the midnight you can use google map to find "Tavell Lodge Cottage" and this will take you to the exact location. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped and so homely. The place had everything you needed, from crockery to milk. Wifi was fluctuating frequently so if you planning to work from there, please consider having your own internet. We had a great time in the cottage and would highly recommend this place.

Stayed for a week from 3rd September and enjoyed the cottage. It has everything you would need for a holiday and it is very comfortable. It is, however, pretty much on its own in the countryside, but this is one of the aspects that attracted me!! Lovely and quiet. Unfortunately I did not get the chance to use the sun loungers on the decking as it was a typical week of Scottish weather. I would definitely rent this cottage again.
