This was our third visit to the cottage. It is in an outstanding location for walking the Surrey Hills. The cottage is cosy and had everything you need. We will return!

We were both pleased and happy when we arrived at Tanhurst Cottage, set in the woods it had a real Fairy Glen quality about it. We were met by the owner Colin and shown around , we were very happy with everything in the cottage, the furniture and soft furnishings were of excellent quality , We were more than happy with everything. the beds were so comfortable and pillows and bedding good quality, we slept well from the first night. The cottage is very isolated , just what we were looking for, plenty of walks from the cottage and towns etc within half an hours drive, we spent most evenings cosily tucked up in front of the fire just enjoying the peace and solitude, very happy with everything

The best thing about this cottage is its location. Quiet and secluded with easy access to lots to open countryside. If you have a dog to walk this is the place to come. Very pleasantly surprised by the Surrey Hills, beautiful and much more rural than we anticipated. Very comfortable beds and high quality linen. Other areas all furnished to a good standard. Has useable Wi-Fi speed wise but capacity is limited (need to check if it said that in the booking details) which restricts some of the applications - but its in such a great location that you should be out most of the time anyway!! Miles from anything if you decide that you want some extra shopping so plan ahead. A bit expensive compared with others we have stayed at, perhaps that's the south of England for you? Features electric storage heaters so all the usual controllability issues that come with them.

This was a most lovely break in a magical location. Weather was poor but it mattered not one jot as the surroundings were so beautiful. Greens and golds of early Autumn in the cottage's woodland garden and beautiful setting in the heart of Surrey countryside. We sampled lovely pub food in local villages on our four day trip down memory lane to our Surrey childhood of over fifty years ago. Can thoroughly recommend this let. Friendly welcome and excellent accommodation.

Lovely cosy cottage with a stunning garden and easy access to lots of local walks, with some right from the doorstep. We were made to feel most welcome by the hosts and would definitely return.

We loved the cottage and it is in a lovely setting. Workmanship is top notch and the addition of slippers for guests in order that floors are saved is a brilliant idea (and cozy). Everything worked flawlessly. A big plus is that the owner is extremely helpful and deeply knowledgeable about the area. Drawbacks are that the loo is very cold in cold weather and the tub/shower err in that direction as well. A real improvement would be made with the addition of a dryer to go with the wonderful washing machine. In very rainy muddy weather without a dryer, the cottage quickly runs out of over the door and hotrail space. Space is at a premium in the cottage but perhaps some thought could be given to clothes hanging. Dogs are welcome and ours loved it.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your helpful comments. I do remember showing your husband around the cottage, as you were unable to come that day because you were taken ill. I pointed out to your husband that the fridge freezer, tumble dryer and airer were in the outbuilding opposite the kitchen and a key was provided to gain access .I also pointed out that the heated towel rails in both the bathroom and toilet were on switches just outside and timers could be adjusted to suit however long you wanted heating to come on, up to 24 hours. I am sorry this information did not get passed on to you once you arrived.
