The cottage was in a beautiful spot with amazing views. It was spotless on arrival and contained almost everything you would need for a week’s stay. I would recommend that perhaps a non slip mat could be provided for the shower in bath as it was a bit tricky getting in and out! Also a chopping/food preparation board in the kitchen would come in handy at times. We found the sofa to be far too low and quite uncomfortable- we are of an age with dodgy back & knees! However we and our 2 dogs had a wonderful time in the beautiful county of Northumberland and despite the inclement weather at times we got out and about to Hexham, Blanchland, Corbridge and of course further on to Holy Island, Bamburgh and Alnwick. We ate out at the Lord Crewe Arms in Blanchland and The Dyvells Inn at Corbridge - both excellent meals. We also visited Bardon Mills pottery which sells a great variety of garden pots and ornaments- well worth a visit. Also Hexham race course which must be the prettiest race course in England! All in all a fabulous week in a really lovely cottage!

We had a really great time. The cottage was well appointed and spotless. A slight downside for me was that the bed and sofa were a little soft (bad back!). Excellent response from the owners to a couple of minor problems that were promptly put right. Great facilities for the dog, with a dog meadow and lawn. We would highly recommend the Tackroom and plan to come back in the future. A relaxing get away! Graham & Kath, Oct 21.
