Such a beautiful house in the outside, but extremely dated in the inside, shabby in some rooms, electric meter although we were aware beforehand and accepted it, it’s still not very nice when you’ve paid good money for a holiday to have to pay extra for that. Shower was not a power shower, infact hit and miss as to whether you got hot water or not. Not worth mentioning to anyone at the time as I could see it was the norm for this property as I said everything was dated. Beach was nearby but not a sandy beach as you might expect of Wales, and the hill to get to it track is very steep. Not that this is a reflection of the property, just information really. Not a peaceful place as it’s got lots of people in one house that’s split in to sections really, not private in anyway and noisy at times. Cleanliness - the cottage was immaculate, beds lovely and comfy, whoever looks after the place really cares and works hard, no repairs needed etc. It’s just in need of some new sofa, rugs, get rid of the pictures and dark wood stuff, a good lick of paint and new shower to bring this up to date. Kitchen bright and new, enough pots and pans tc well equipped and dishwater a nice touch being on holiday. Nearest pub a good mile away, but drinks cheap in comparison. Ship inn, 4 miles away in red wharf bay lovely fish and chips but menu was expensive. No little shops, nearest is Beaumaris. Did the boat trip to puffin island, advise you to pre book your tickets, lovely trip. And visited the castle which is ruins and not a great deal to see while the best part is being restored! Wouldn’t stay again, not a place to get a rest, in fact we came home early as rather be at home.

Lovely location in a quiet hillside close to the beach. House is simply furnished and good value for money. We will be back. Thank you

Location is beautiful, you can see the sea from the property ( a very short walk) and it's very peaceful and isolated. The properation itself is very outdated and this had been noted in the comments book that is within the property... either this isn't read or is just ignored. The beds are horrendous, and after just a few hous of trying to sleep our backs were in agony. There are also broken and loose slacks on the bed frame. In the end we ended up moving the bed frame and laying the mattress on the floor! The sofas in the living room are just as bad and it was more comfortable to sit on the floor. The shower room was wasn't particularly clean. The water basically over fills in the bottom from poor drainage and the shower head itself spins around in the holder so you either need to hold it or push against the wall to get in the waters flow. Kitchen wasn't particularly clean, the sink had slimey strands of hair and what looked like phelm! There wasn't much in the way of simple home amenities, tiny scrap of soap, no cleaning fluids, kitchen roll, salt or pepper etc 1 single teatowel. Not very homely. The whole place is in need of a splash of paint, general clean up and a serious update in furniture and even consider update the electricity to be on the main grid rather than paying by the meter. The area is beautiful and this would do as a very basic Base but certainly shouldn't be picked by anyone looking for a luxurious break away.

Stayed over end April 18.Nice & clean and more spacious than pictures show. Sofas need replacing as others review but we took a cushion each and made it better. Beds lovely & comfy. £1 electric was easy to do the heating came on morning and night for a few hours and this was mainly fine just put electric heaters on in bedroom for 10 min whilst getting ready. Wi-Fi worked great. Shower was fine but shower tray drainage could be better. Nice view and picnic benches in garden pleasant . Fair walk to beach but can easily drive 10 min to beach car park. We were out and about and didnt find it too far off the beaten track. Anglesey is a lovely place to explore with lots of beaches to find and explore. Check out the buriel chambers and lighthouses too

We had a wonderful holiday in Anglesey, with brilliant weather. Sycamore is in a great setting, a small little hamlet, very quiet and off the beaten track. It was clean and cosy and met all our needs. We took our dogs and having the garden was great. We enjoyed a number of walks nearby so didn’t even have to use the car on some days. We did have to travel for around 15 mins to the nearest shop. The local pub, about 30 min walk away, was friendly and reasonably priced. I was surprised that on top of the cost of the accommodation we had to pay for electricity as I have never had this situation before, although it only ended up being a few pounds per day. I felt the only improvement needed was with the shower, drainage was poor and it would be much better to have a cubicle with a door rather than a curtain. I also feel it would be nice to have a mattress protector. We will definitely return to Anglesey and this would be our first choice of accommodation if we were looking to stay in the area.

Good value for money accommodation in a rural location. The accommodation is basic and the sofas could do with replacing but overall lovely. We have stayed there twice now and will be back again next year.
