This is the first time we had ever been to Cornwall and what a way to start! Suncroft is a beautiful bungalow with all the touches of being in your own home, there was nothing that didn’t meet our needs all week, it’s incredibly well equipped. We took our two cocker spaniels and they loved the garden which is completely enclosed and safe to leave the door open for your dogs to roam at their leisure. The bed was super comfy too. There is ample parking and it’s only a 5 min walk to the local coop where you can buy most things you’ll need. The local area is beautiful with wonderful scenic walks. The shops, pubs and restaurants are nearly all dog friendly and super to wander around. We spent a day in Newquay which is only a 40 min drive away and offers more shops to browse round. The owners are really helpful and great at fast communication when you need it. Nothing is to much trouble for them, which makes for a relaxing holiday experience. We loved it so much we are going to book for next year and take more of the family with us, as it’s such a gem of a find.

Compared to other properties in North Cornwall I think Suncroft is expensive for what's offered, but this applies to all properties in and around Port Isaac (Doc Martin effect). In terms of cleanliness, we arrived mid-afternoon and found that the property had still to be cleaned, so returned after 4pm as instructed to find the cleaner still there, and were politely asked if we could wait another 10-15 mins, which we agreed to. The cooker had a broken part, mixer tap on kitchen sink leaked quite badly. We informed the owner, but no-one appeared during our stay to fix either issue, although an inconvenience (As we didn't know whether someone would turn up or not) it did not prove to be detrimental to our holiday. We informed the owner who has since paid us compensation.
