Description

Situated in the heart of the Broadlands, wildlife in abundance, this is a great base to discover the Broads and north Norfolk.

This lovely barn conversion is tucked away down a country lane, in the heart of Broadland, enjoying glorious views across open fields. Summer House Stables offers spacious and a thoughtfully furnished interior, as well as a large enclosed garden, complete with a hot tub. The village of Catfield is located just 1⅓ miles away, and offers a local shop and pub. Set amongst a gentle and tranquil rural landscape, dotted with ancient churches, wind pumps and nature reserves, this area of Norfolk offers a wealth of opportunity to enjoy walking, cycling and bird watching. Nearby, How Hill Nature Reserve with its marshes, meadows, woodland and open water, is well worth exploring. Riverside pubs and cafés are plentiful and a number of Broadland centres offer bike and canoe hire - possibly the most delightful way to discover the lovely reed lined waterways and their abundant wildlife. Visitors can also hire boats at nearby Potter Heigham just 3 miles away, or take a cruise from bustling Wroxham, the capital of the Broads. Close by, BeWILDerwood, a magical tree top park, promises children a day to remember, and lovely dune backed sandy beaches are a short drive in Sea Palling.
For lively family fun, visitors need look no further than Great Yarmouth with Pleasurewood Hills theme park, whilst Cromer also offers traditional seaside entertainment including a renowned end of pier show. Bygone museums, craft centres and National Trust Blickling Hall are all within an easy drive, as is the medieval city of Norwich, with its magnificent cathedral, castle, galleries, museums, cinemas, theatres and excellent shopping. A little further afield on the north Norfolk coast, seal watching boat trips can be found at picturesque fishing villages, many of which also boast pubs and restaurants serving superb, locally caught seafood. Fishing is available along a stretch of the River Ant, 2 miles, by arrangement with the owner. The pretty village of Ludham, just 2 miles away, boasts two pubs and a good range of shops. Beach 7 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.

We had a lovely stay at Summer House Stables. The house is very comfortable, and very well supplied with everything one would need at a Holiday Home. We had a few issues with the Cable, but Edward came around quickly to sort it out. With sunny days we were able to sit out in the lovely garden.

Beautiful barn, really well equipped with comfortable beds and sofas and TVs in every room. The hot tub was a lovely bonus too.

This is a lovely house...a complete getaway. Lots to see in the area and walks for the dog right from the door. Our only complaint was the dirty fridge on arrival. The rest of the house was fine so probably an oversight although there was fresh bottle of milk for us. I had to clean it (after a 7 hour drive)....all the shelves were dirty. We also thought it a little over priced as there were only two of us.

Excellent accommodation set in a beautiful rural location. If you love the outdoors and want time to unwind and relax in a five star barn conversion this place is for you and is highly recommend by the Hilton’s!

Visited during the visit from Siberia, of the Beast from the East. The property is sited in a wonderful location, deep in farming land, and exactly what we had hoped for from the description given. If you want delivery mopeds turning up with your phone ordered food, THINK AGAIN. If you want a relaxing, away from it all break, look nowhere else. YES we have every intention to return, property shared with friends, for a few days, who were as equally impressed as we were. Well furnished throughout, underfloor heating means you return to wonderful welcomed atmosphere, having endured fantastic walks. Edward the host was available if needed, but not over bearing. Overall if you want a get away, seriously consider the property. A wonderful stay.
