Situated in glorious rolling countryside on a farm on the border between Devon and Cornwall, Stowford Barton Cottages are the perfect idyllic retreat where you can relax, get away from it all and recharge your batteries. Rosebank Cottage (ref W4218) is a delightful, 18th-century, converted stone barn with a bright open plan living area on the first floor opening out onto a pretty lawned garden, the ideal spot for a summer BBQ or to relax with a good book. It has retained much of its original charm with exposed wooden beams. Swallows Nest (ref W43165) is a spacious, detached barn conversion, again retaining lots of its charm and with a lovely garden and patio area to enjoy an alfresco supper or a morning coffee. Both cottages enjoy shared use of an on-site games room with pool table, table tennis, dart board and football table, so there is something to keep everyone entertained.
This is a perfect location from which to explore the beauty of both Devon and Cornwall. The award-winning Lifton Farm Shop is just 4 miles away, with its vast array of fresh farm produce, bakery, deli and highly acclaimed restaurant. There are many superb walks and cycle tracks locally, whilst the wild beauty of the Dartmoor National Park is just 7 miles. The popular resort of Bude and the breathtaking north Cornish coast lies just 20 miles away, and has an excellent range of shops, restaurants and three lovely sandy beaches. Historic Launceston, the ancient capital of Cornwall, is just 9 miles with its castle ruin, steam railway, shops, restaurants and supermarket. Nearby Roadford Lake offers coarse and trout fishing, sailing, lovely dog friendly lakeside walks, picnic areas and water sports. Golf, tennis and riding are all available locally. The famous Eden Project and Lydford Gorge (National Trust) are within easy reach, as are many other family attractions including Trethorne Leisure Park and Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre, making this an ideal holiday location for all ages. Shop and pub serving food 1½ miles.

Quiet, comfortable cottage only a few minutes drive from the A30. Owners were lovely. Recommend Dingles, fairground museum and Roadford lake for a good walk both only a few minutes drive away.

Lovely cottage, felt like home. Well equipped, had everything you needed. The 3 bathrooms were great as we only normally get 1. The owners were lovely & made us feel welcome. The games room was an excellent extra & provided lots of fun. Location was remote, nearest supermarket was Launceston, but you know this when you book it. We spent most of our time in Cornwall, but did travel for an hour or so most of the time. We were sad to leave. Thank you

Our second time coming to the cottage, found it very nice, owners are lovely and very helpful, nothing is too much for them to sort out. Could do with an armchair of some type where the nest of tables are, as when their is 4 adults or more not enough room for everyone to sit comfortable in the evenings when relaxing. The oven is a little complicated, when anyone first goes there, but their is information on this in the Swallows Nest book that is on the nest of tables and also in the kitchen. Had a fabulous week, weather was nice to us. Was lovely having a chat with the owners again too.
