Situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads and the pretty village of Ludham, this Grade II listed thatch cottage stands as a timeless testament to the region’s rich history. With its distinctive thatched roof, this charming cottage exudes an air of rustic elegance. Steeped in history, being the oldest cottage in the village, with origins dating to 16th Century.
Fully refurbished to offer sociable open plan living accommodation. The cottage stairs are original and characterized by their steep incline, a typical design of its era. Two bedrooms at first floor, provide a wonderful nights’ sleep. A modern bathroom is located on ground floor, and the living area has sofa bed sleeping option for guests wishing to avoid the stairs. Ludham, has a shop, post office, heritage butcher and pub serving food, all short walking distance. Womack Staithe Water and River Thurne provides great fishing opportunities, pedalo hire and a village green. Excellent location for walkers and cyclists where you can enjoy nearby trails and footpaths.
Wroxham, capital of the Norfolk Broads, 12 minutes’ drive, with riverside restaurants, supermarket, shops, daily boat hire and river trips to enjoy. Wroxham Barns has a petting farm, craft barns, small fair and restaurants. The riverside village of Horning has its selection of tea shops, restaurants and pubs. Horning Ferry has a marina, leisure club and another pub. There are excellent sandy beaches at Sea Palling, Hemsby, and Winterton-on-Sea, backed with dunes, under 10 miles away. Fine City of Norwich, with its cathedrals, castle, museums, theatre and vast array of cafés and a magnet for shoppers. There is a wealth of National Trust properties to visit in the area.
