Description

In the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country and in the perfect position for exploring Cumbria, Northumberland, the Lake District National Park and Scottish Borders!

The picture postcard Stoneybeck is a spacious, detached cottage which oozes character and charm, superbly situated in a quiet location, ideal for exploring the area. Nestled in the heart of Greenhead, Stoneybeck is the ideal base for walkers and cyclists, and is within walking distance of Hadrian’s Wall. Stoneybeck is in a great location to discover Northumberland, the Lake District and the Scottish Borders. The area has been awarded UK National Park Dark Sky status and there are two purpose built observatories at Kielder, as well as one about a mile from the cottage. Northumberland, with its National Park, is just a few miles away from the cottage. Hadrian’s Wall is on your doorstep, and a visit to Vindolanda is a must, where you can watch the archaeologists excavating, or visit the museum to see the famous writing tablets. After a long day exploring, relax in the garden or take a walk to Greenhead village to enjoy a good meal and a well earned drink. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

A lovely house in lovely surroundings, and about 300 yards from Hadrian’s Wall. A bonus is dog-friendliness.

We really enjoyed our holiday to Stoneybeck cottage, it's a charming cottage with good garden for kids to play in. The owners were very helpful and left us a nice welcome basket of goodies and wine. We had fantastic weather and made a couple of trips to the outdoor swimming pools at Haltwhistle.

We very much enjoyed our time at the cottage, it was lovely and spacious. Very clean and well equipped. Lovely setting with the fields and walks straight from the cottage. Enough space for 2 families for the week and weather was great. Garden was good size and maintained for children to play in. Haltwhistle not very far away and good range of shops and local supermarket as well as cafes and takeaways. Train station also for trips further afield. Will definately return.

Stoneybeck is a very comfortable house set in wonderful countryside. The description is exactly as it is spacious and well equipped. The two dogs loved the rayburn, lying in front of it was their treat ! Lorriane is contactable and provides guidance on the little quirks that arise when staying in a different property. We had a great time and would definitely stay again.
