Spend the day on the beach, or venture out and explore charming seaside towns and tiny fishing villages, this is the ideal spot for exploring east Devon.

Situated along the historic Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, these delightful holiday properties (refs UKC1368, UKC1370- UKC1377 and UKC1379) provide the perfect base from which to explore east Devon. Stoneleigh Village offers single-storey semi-detached and detached cottages, which have been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. Each property has patio doors leading to a private sitting-out area, ideal for al fresco dining, and refs UKC1371, UKC1375, UKC1376 overlook the Jurassic Coast. The stunning scenery and dramatic coastal path offers visitors a fantastic journey through its unique landscape.
The Jurassic Coast lies within the unspoilt countryside of east Devon, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its alluring sheltered beaches provide a wonderful secluded retreat. Absorb the breathtaking views of rugged cliffs, award-winning beaches, seaside towns and fishing villages. Sidmouth’s shingle bay is surrounded by dramatic red cliffs, whilst the town itself boasts around 500 listed buildings, affectionately earning the title of ’The Regency Town by the Sea’. The Donkey Sanctuary, a popular tourist attraction, lies within a short walk, and there are many attractions close by including Seaton Tramway, Pecorama, considered by many to be the finest 7¼ inch gauge railway in Britain, Lulworth Cove Visitor Centre and many Nationa Trust properties. Very lovely holiday with my family and I do have a small child, which he thoroughly enjoyed it too! My only downfall was there was no welcome pack to say hello, a few tips about that place and no instruction about things like the fire place? Also would recommend WiFi as well. But over all it was really lovely! Would definitely be looking to go again!

The accommodation and the site were so poor we did not stay. The lounge, kitchen and bathrooms were ok at first glance, the lounge however was dusty and there was debris on the floor. The bedrooms were a disaster, the twin beds and the king size beds were all the same design, approximately 12 inches from the floor, thin foam type mattresses on a plastic slatted base. The base fell through when we sat on the edge of the bed. The drawers fell apart as we opened them. As I have previously managed a mattress making business and sales showroom I knew where the beds and furniture had come from. The reception area looked derelict, the grounds looked abandoned to nature, neither the shrubs or the grass had had any attention in the last few months. The staff offered some help, but they admitted the beds could not be made suitable for us to use. An alternative cottage on another site was our best option and we took it. The site appeares to be changing owners and the furnishings and settings are a disgrace

We first stayed in the cottages at Stoneleigh in Oct 2016 and have recently returned June 2018. Unfortunately in this time we felt that the grounds had really been neglected and would have at least expected mowed and kept grass during peak season. These cottages are of a generous size and their open plan layout makes for a feel good and social atmosphere. However we did feel that the state of the surrounding grounds let it down, looked scruffy gave the cottages an abandoned look. The cottage itself was appeared clean and tidy but the beds were very uncomfortable. We will most likely look for an alternative place to stay for our next Devon trip having seen a downward slip in standards at Stoneleigh which is a shame as we were very impressed the first time.
