Description

With the beach, local amenities and The Donkey Sanctuary within walking distance, this property is perfect for a family holiday.

Situated along the historic Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, these delightful holiday properties (refs UKC1368, UKC1370- UKC1377 and UKC1379) provide the perfect base from which to explore east Devon. Stoneleigh Village offers single-storey semi-detached and detached cottages, which have been decorated and furnished to a very good standard. Each property has patio doors leading to a private sitting-out area, ideal for al fresco dining, and refs UKC1371, UKC1375, UKC1376 overlook the Jurassic Coast. The holiday park itself occupies a beautiful, elevated position and sits charmingly between the Regency town of Sidmouth, and the picturesque harbour town of Lyme Regis. The stunning scenery and dramatic coastal path offers visitors a fantastic journey through its unique landscape.
The Jurassic Coast lies within the unspoilt countryside of east Devon, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its alluring sheltered beaches provide a wonderful secluded retreat. Absorb the breathtaking views of rugged cliffs, award-winning beaches, seaside towns and fishing villages. Sidmouth’s shingle bay is surrounded by dramatic red cliffs, whilst the town itself boasts around 500 listed buildings, affectionately earning the title of ’The Regency Town by the Sea’. The Donkey Sanctuary, a popular tourist attraction, lies within a short walk, and there are many attractions close by including Seaton Tramway, Pecorama, considered by many to be the finest 7¼ inch gauge railway in Britain, Lulworth Cove Visitor Centre and many Nationa Trust properties. Sailing, water sports and cycling are available locally. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Rose is a very lovely and welcoming home from home. Beds are very comfortable and it is very clean. A perfect holiday home but you need a car to stay here as it is quite a distance from pubs/restaurants/shops. Would recommend to anyone.

Great cottage, well equipped, comfortable etc.. Within two minutes walk to the Donkey Sanctuary so great for the kids. Also well located for Sidmouth, Seaton and Beer. Welcome was very friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Good layout in cottage and comfortable. Quiet location with sea views. HOWEVER the cottage was full of fluff & dust. There was no hoover, only a broom and a dustpan & brush which just moved the dust & fluff around the lovely wooden flooring throughout the cottage. The carpet rugs were also full of "bits" & fluff and needed a good hoover. Potholes on the access road need to be dealt with.

Really disappointed in this cottage. It could be really lovely but the cleanliness was very poor, showers and bathrooms needed a deep clean and repairs carried out to heaters, towel rail and window blinds. Damp in double bedroom and en suite bathroom. The whole complex seemed in a state of flux, not sure if it is a work in progress or just getting very neglected. The manager was noticeable by his absence, reception was never open, but even that looked like a building site. The view from the cottage was of another 'building site' albeit it had green hording around it but not the view we were expecting. On leaving the cottage I left a long list of jobs that needed doing in the property. Because we had not seen anyone in the reception the whole time we were there I left key with another resident. Ironically on leaving the site to come home, reception was open and the manager was sitting in there! In our opinion this is not up to 4 star standards! On the positive side if you love visiting the Donkey Sanctuary this is the perfect place to stay as it is in easy walking distance. We will not be using this holiday complex again unless standards are vastly improved.
