Dog friendly cottage. Really clean and comfortable. So peaceful and relaxing. John and Angie very friendly and helpful. You do need a car to get about really. There is a bus stop in village.

A brilliant cottage, tastefully converted from a Victorian railway station. Beautiful gardens, lovingly maintained and - a bonus - overlooking the village cricket pitch where a match was underway when we arrived. Inside our apartment was spacious and bright and airy. It was spotlessly clean, the white towels were fluffy and soft and the bed linen on the comfortable beds was bright white. There was plenty of good hot water and all equipment one could possibly need. Angie and John were friendly and helpful without being intrusive and quickly dealt with the small problem we did have when a popping bulb tripped the lighting circuit fuse. A very pretty village with interesting history which we enjoyed looking around and the location was very good for exploring this part of Yorkshire. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

Beautiful converted old train station, the garden is very relaxing to sit in. Angie & John were very welcoming & helpful promptly when we asked them anything, but also have a good balance of privacy. Attention to personal detail was lovely, e.g. home made dog biscuits. The kitchen was very well equipped. Overall very impressed and will return

It's the new owners first season but they are getting into the swing of it very well. Welcoming and accommodating they will do well. A couple of minor points, both the tv and the broadband reception could do with a upgrade. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay. Peaceful and quiet yet only a short car or bus ride from York, Scarbourgh and Whitby. Good local shops and excellent places to eat make it well worth the visit.
