Brompton by Sawdon is the most quiet and peaceful village. Well worth a visit as it is ideally situated to visit Scarborough, Thornton Le Dale, Burton Agnes Hall and so many interesting places. I have stayed at The Old Station three times since 2013 and have never been disappointed.

The original station buildings have been beautifully transformed into 4 holiday units. Well appointed in lovely gardens.

Brompton is full of character as a disused railway station. It has been sensitively converted as a holiday home, but keeping the feel of a country railway station. Beautiful gardens cover the old railway track with a wonderful view of the local Cricket pitch and the Yorkshire Wolds as a backdrop. It is cosy & comfortable but could use some modernisation. Décor is rather dated. However it is kept spotlessly clean and the owners are the perfect hosts. The nearby village is charming and the main towns of Scarborough and Pickering are just a short drive away with all the amenities that they offer. A perfect base for a charming and peaceful break in 'God's own County'.
