This property is part of our Cottages4you collection

In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

A three-storey cottage in the heart of the picture-postcard village of Bourton-on-the-Water within short walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants.

Oozing with charm and character, this warm and welcoming, terraced holiday home is an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds. Located within the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, known locally as ’the Venice of the Cotswolds’, Station Cottage is just seconds from the high street and all the attractions that this popular Cotswold village has to offer.

This early 18th century, Grade II listed cottage has been restored to provide all the creature comforts of a home away from home. To the front of the property there is a small courtyard garden (please note, there is no space to the rear of the property), ideal for enjoying a glass of wine in the summer. Further outdoor space can be found at the village green, which sits alongside the beautiful River Windrush and is less than 110 yards from the front door of the cottage). The living room is comfortably furnished, with seating for 4 adults and has a 40" 3D Smart TV, Playstation 3 and a Bluetooth music dock. The dining area area has an extendable oak dining table with four leather chairs. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the mod-cons (including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and DAB radio). Both bedrooms have been furnished to a very good standard, and for that extra comfort, include ’hotel collection’ bedding and towels, and an iPod dock can be found in the master bedroom. A tablet device is also available for guest use.

Bordered by Stow-on-the-Wold to the north, Northleach to the south, The Rissingtons to the east and The Slaughters to the west, Bourton-on-the-Water sits in the heart of the Cotwolds. One of the more distinctive, vibrant and busy Cotswold villages, the River Windrush runs through Bourton and is straddled by a series of low, elegant, stone bridges and bordered by shaded greens, providing the perfect picnic spot. Children can enjoy a spot of river paddling whilst adults admire the handsome Cotswold architecture.
Every August Bank Holiday, there is a football match played in the river, often drenching both the players and the spectators alike!

Station Cottage sits just seconds off the main thoroughfare so you can mooch along the high street in search of the perfect holiday memento, or simply enjoy delicious local produce in one of the many local eateries. It’s the perfect spot for a weekend getaway but there’s heaps to do if you’re tempted to linger in this idyllic spot.

With its model village, Birdland Park and Gardens, the Cotswolds Perfumery and a collection of vintage cars and antique toys literally on the doorstep, you don’t need a car to keep the whole family entertained. Within easy striking distance you will find a host of well known Cotswold attractions including Hidcote Manor, Snowshill Manor, Bourton House, Sezincote, Kiftsgate Court and Batsford Aboretum.

It goes without saying that there’s some stunning walking country and at Station Cottage, your four legged friend can enjoy it all too. Shops 25 yards, pubs and restaurants 110 yards.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable and need new mattresses as there are two dips on either side of the bed and the mattress has lost all of its bounce.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are disappointed by your feedback, especially as your concerns were not raised with us during the period of your stay. We sincerely apologise if you found the beds to be uncomfortable. I can assure you that we take such comments extremely seriously and fully appreciate that an uncomfortable mattress can spoil a stay. As a consequence we have just purchased two brand new 1,000 pocket sprung mattress one king size and one standard double to replace the existing mattresses at the cottage. These will be delivered on 28 July. We thank you for your feedback and we hope that you may consider a return to Station Cottage at a point in the future.

Very nice cottage, well located. Parking is not great and the stairs are difficult with young children, but we really liked the cottage and surroundings.

An excellent holiday. The steepness of the stairs could prove a challenge if you were very young/ very old but we weren’t either so they were ok. A lovely cottage. Everything we all needed for a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful cottage in a very central location. The beauty of Bourton on the Water is minutes from your door, no need for your car. Inside Station Cottage is a warm and cosy retreat - everything you could possibly need for your stay. A very welcome treat on arrival of cake, milk, butter, bread and marmalade - all local produce. Dog friendly too. Only one complaint ... we didn't want to leave. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We stayed for Christmas and the cottage had lovely decorations and was warm when we arrived. There was a super hamper of goodies which was much appreciated. The cottage is near the village centre and so we were a short walk from the amenities of the centre. Beds warm and cosy all furnishings and fittings first class. Would definitely stay again did not want to leave! Super cottage.
