Situated on the Northumberland Coastal Route with its stunning coastline of dunes and beaches, and boasting magnificent views of Dunstanburgh Castle, lies North Farm Cottages. These charming holiday homes will delight all ages. Once the heart of the farm, these stone built cottages have been expertly created in the former granaries, workshops, barns and byres of the steading, with great attention to detail by the caring owners, to offer a holiday experience to remember.
Located on the edge of Embleton village, close to the popular villages of Craster, renowned for its smoked kippers, Beadnell with its water sports, and Newton-by-the-Sea with its National Trust beach. The town of Alnwick is only 7 miles away, with its majestic castle (used in Harry Potter films), the enchanting Alnwick Gardens, playhouse, cobbled streets, inns and restaurants. Dunstanburgh Castle in nearby Craster, makes a lovely scenic walk along the cliff top, reached only by foot. Seahouses, known for its fine fish and chips and small working harbour, is always a visitor’s favourite. Holy Island is not to be missed, but remember to check the tides times, or take a relaxing boat trip to the Farne Islands to see the puffins or seals.
Embleton village has a friendly pub, restaurant, garage, post office and local shop, a well-equipped children’s park and magnificent sandy bay. A beach hut is also available to hire in Newton-by-the-Sea, a National Trust beach, by arrangement with the owners. There is a privately mown path to the beach at Newton-by-the-Sea and to the village of Embleton across the owner’s land. There is also a play park, duck pond and activities such as a mini beast mansion to keep the children occupied on their way to the beach, including a picnic area with breathtaking views of Dunstanburgh Castle and a WWII pillbox. Shop, pub and restaurant 3/4 mile.

    Excellent base, lovely and quiet. The view is fantastic of the surrounding area and my partner fell in love with sea view. Plenty of living space, just a lovely 3 days and definately would recommend

    Had a brilliant time. Absolutely beautiful cottage- very clean and comfortable. Decor is perfect, v smart and stylish. The log burner in the main room made everything v cosy. The beds are really comfortable and there is plenty of space everywhere. The kitchen is lovely and pretty well equipped; feel a bit petty scoring it 9 for equipment but the toaster isn’t v good and there was no potato masher. First world problems really- everything else was amazing and would highly recommend. So much to do locally as well- v well located as not far from Alnwick, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne, Craster etc. We will definitely come back and would stay here again.
