Nestled in the vibrant Kentish town of Broadstairs, this well-presented holiday property provides guests with comfortable accommodation in a beautiful area.

St Christopher’s is a detached bungalow in the vibrant Kentish town of Broadstairs. Boasting a garden and off road parking space, it’s well situated to enjoy all that Broadstairs and Kent has to offer. Broadstairs is a pretty town, which still retains its unspoilt charm, with its narrow streets, flint cottages and interesting shops, and is all beautifully set off by the famous award-winning Viking Bay. Nearby, Ramsgate Harbour, a source of never ending interest, has lots of nice cafes and restaurants to enjoy. There is an array of sandy bays and coves in the nearby area, and a little further afield, quite different coastal areas, the Viking Trail is not one to be missed. Sandwich Bay and Dungeness are a short drive away, or travel from Hythe on the famous miniature railway for the best way to see it. Visit Whitstable, famous for its oysters, Faversham with Britain’s oldest brewery, Shepherd Neame, also Dover, Deal and Walmer Castles, you will be stuck for choice how to spend your days. Enjoy a day trip to France on the ferry from Dover, or by Eurotunnel from Folkesone. Inland, Kent is a stunning county, known as the Garden of England, with orchards, woodlands and rolling scenery. Canterbury is about half an hour’s drive away and is a wonderful city with breathtaking buildings, the famous cathedral and lovely shops. There is a high speed rail connection to London direct from Broadstairs. Beach 100 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

We enjoyed a lovely week at the bungalow. It is in a really good location, only about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and 5 minutes from the beaches. Parking for 2 cars on the driveway is a bonus although actually we did not need to use the car whilst we were there. The bungalow has everything you need and soon becomes a home from home. We enjoyed it so much we booked another break there next year as soon as we got home!

We loved the bungalow , it was so cosy and had all the amenities you would need. The beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever had and as my husband and I have back problems this was really appreciated by us...also loved the heated blanket on the bed as it was so cold when we stayed there. The conservatory was well equipped with lovely comfortable furniture which I'm sure we would have used more if the weather had been warmer and there is a great view of the sea from here. The town is less than a ten minutes walk away which has plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from and lots of unique little shops and book shops. Also a big bonus of the bungalow is the parking there on the front drive which saves you hunting around for a car park or space. We will be back again but maybe would be nice to choose a visit in the warmer weather. Penny the owner was extremely friendly and very helpful and she was there at the bungalow to meet us and show us around.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for giving us such a nice review. We were so glad that you liked St Christophers and enjoyed your stay, despite the cold weather. It was also very good to know that you found the beds comfortable, after our recent negative feedback about them.

The bungalow is in a good location, with local amenities in walking distance. Heating was too effective, there is no thermostat to allow the temperature to be turned down. Lounge was good, as was the kitchen. The beds were soft and our sleep was not good. The garden and outside facilities would be good in the summer, so for our break we wouldn’t expect to use them. The book of information was of use, however, the list of what must be done or not was a little excessive. One must presume that there had been some unacceptable individuals staying there, in the past, to need this approach. There appeared to be an expectation that we should thoroughly clean the bungalow before leaving, judging by the notes left around, we would not leave it in an unacceptable state, but equally we were holidaymakers not cleaners.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am sorry that you were not entirely satisfied with St Christophers. Although there is no room thermostat, there are thermostatic valves on all radiators, and I did point out the controls for turning the boiler off if neccessary. Maybe it was better to be too warm than too cold though, in January. It seems that you found the beds too soft. We will check that the mattresses are in good order, but we do need to cater for all tastes. We certainly do not expect the house to be thoroughly cleaned before leaving, and I am sorry that you formed this impression. Thank you, though, for leaving everything in such good order. We were disappointed that you gave us such a low rating for comfort and equipment, as these are both points that we pride ourselves on, and which other people have remarked upon.
