Description

Walkers will love the South West Coastal path, through the varied landscape of the Axmouth Undercliffs National Nature Reserve.

This attractive first floor holiday apartment is located right opposite the pebble beach of Seaton and are ideal for families, couples and friends to get away. The mile-long beach is excellent for watersports, from sailing and swimming to diving and windsurfing. Tucked away in a corner of east Devon is the beautiful, unspoilt Axe Valley. Seaton’s unique tramway runs inland along the Axe Estuary, to the medieval market town of Colyton. Seaton lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is the perfect location from which you can explore the many and varied attractions of east Devon as well as neighbouring Dorset. Known as the Jurassic Coast, this stretch of Dorset and east Devon coastline became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Wherever you go along the Jurassic Coast you will see quaint towns and villages, stunning scenery and evidence of a fascinating past.
The South West Coastal path runs through the Axmouth Undercliffs National Nature Reserve, from Axmouth harbour to the Cobb harbour at Lyme Regis. This walk can be done at any time of the year, in the winter you see more of the tumbled landscape and shore as the leaf cover has gone. In the spring, the woods are full of wild garlic and many other wild flowers, and in the summer and autumn, it is a green jungle. Seaton Bay is a mile-long shelving shingle beach sheltered between cliffs. The beach can be fished both during the day and at night, with all styles of fishing allowed, including spinning and feathering as well as bottom baiting. Fishing trips can be booked from Beer, where boats will take people out fishing for mackerel in the summer months, or charters can be booked all year round for fishing off wrecks and reefs in Lyme Bay. There are many National Trust properties all close by. Beach 20 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards. This attractive ground floor holiday apartment is located right opposite the pebble beach of Seaton and are ideal for families, couples and friends to get away. A wonderful apartment looking out to sea in the quiet town of Seaton. It’s in a perfect location to explore the Jurassic coast and with a few good pubs within walking distance. Will definetly return.

A mid winter break away during a particularly stormy week, Spindrift was a very warm and comfortable base and well equipped. So handy having parking on site altho with all the towns amenities so close we just walked ( The large Tesco is particularly useful ) Just a couple of comments, the second bedroom is directly off the kitchen meaning access to the bathroom is via the kitchen and front room ( didn't bother us as only the two of us ) and the outside access stairs which are narrow and quite steep, to the small lobby inside the front door are probably not suited to the less physically able - neither of these arrangements are particularly clear on the website.

Fabulous apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay and spotlessly clean. It was wonderful to go to sleep with the sound of the waves breaking on the shore. We have enjoyed our stay so much at Spindrift we have already booked for next year

A well presented holiday flat in an excellent location, right on Seaton's seafront. Well appointed throughout with modern kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bedrooms, bright lounge-dining area and wifi that worked well during our stay.
