We have had an amazing stay, The house very warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Every small need and detail thought of from the extremely comfortable bed, basket of fresh fruit provided on the dining table to the lovely fresh daffodils in the living room these little touches made it very homely and welcoming. The house is set in a well maintained large private garden with views across the countryside and despite being adjacent to the owners house our privacy was respected throughout our stay. A big thank you to our host who was there on our arrival to check we had everything we needed and were happy with everything in the house. Inside the house there was a lovely welcoming surprise of freshly baked cake, wine, milk and eggs what more could you want. The house is very nicely situated for exploring the Northumberland countryside and sites of interest, we had some great days out returning in the evening to the peace and quiet of this beautiful house. If the house is available in the future we would definitely like to return again. Thank you again for a beautiful and welcoming stay.

This was our sixth visit which, I think, says it all. In every respect Southwood Lodge is unsurpassable. We unreservedly recommend to all those who may be seeking a holiday rental property in this beautiful part of the country.

Fabulous week in Northumberland, excellent base for exploring. Spotless, everything we needed included and a great adventure for us all. The owner could not have done more to make us feel welcome, homemade cakes and milk in the fridge when we arrived.

Enjoyed our week in Southwood Lodge. It had everything we were looking for. The cottage was beautifully maintained with wonderful gardens all around and in an idyllic countryside setting yet close enough to Corbridge with its many places to dine out. The house was very roomy and just right for when our son and his girlfriend, both students at Newcastle Uni,came to join us for part of the week. We also had Hadrian’s Wall on our doorstep and enjoyed exploring this history and also Hexham Abbey. Would love to return!

This was one of the best houses we have ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful, setting in a wonderful garden, everything we needed in the house, and the owner had left a cake and food and wine for us.

Our first time as a family booking a cottage for a short break and we were unsure what to expect. The cottage and grounds were beautiful and we all had a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The unexpected extra touches from Pauline were very much appreciated and made our children’s Easter break extra special.

Excellent holiday cottage, second visit. Fantastic welcome pack, thank you for the delicious cherry and almond cake and other goodies. Lovely location, plenty of birds and squirrels in the garden. Owner so thoughtful, couldn't get out due to snow one day, she checked we were warm enough and had food. Will definitely stop again.
