What can I say! A stunning property with wonderful views out to sea. From the minute I entered the property my eyes were drawn to the front windows.


Situated in a highly sought after position along the coast at Bridlington, you’ll be sure to fall in love with this luxurious apartment.

South Cliff has been beautifully renovated to provide an elegant, upmarket apartment, situated on the seafront, looking over Bridlington’s south bay. An extremely spacious, ground floor apartment with floods of light, creating a bright and airy space, thoughtfully furnished with an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary. This wonderful apartment makes a great luxury space to enjoy a holiday on Yorkshire’s east coast. The great advantage of the property is a small courtyard and private parking to the rear, as well as a beautiful, well-maintained enclosed garden to the front which overlooks the sea. What a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Bridlington has a fantastic theatre, situated just a short walk away from the apartment, hosting international shows throughout the year. There are an array of amenities within a few minutes walk, meaning everything you need is right on your doorstep. Take a walk along the seafront or follow the cliff top walk to Sewerby Hall, a beautiful Georgian mansion open to the public. The gardens are well worth a visit and there is even a small zoo for the children to explore. Bridlington golf course is just a short stroll from the apartment, an excellent 18-hole golf course first played on in 1907. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes with Sledmere House being one of the finest nearby. Beach 50 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 600 yards.

    Excellent location. Very spacious apartment with fantastic sea views. Kitchen very well equipped. Very nice dining room and sun lounge. Received a very useful and well stocked welcome basket on arrival. Fresh flowers in the rooms where a very nice touch. Net Flix/internet very good. En-suites could do with refurbishment/updating. Tempur mattress on king size bed not our personal choice and couldn’t sleep. Had to resort to using the double bed. Needs a few tweaks here and there to be able to score it ten. Not being negative, am sure will soon be put right.

    I booked for a half term week to the seaside for my daughter and a friend with her son and their little dog. The house was absolutely lovely, comfortable and very relaxing and fun for kids being on beach front. Ideal for walking dog and amusements and fun for kids only a short 10/15 min walk. Could not recommend this place enough. Kitchen is fully equipped and we cooked every night. Games were provided and TV had Netflix so kids were happy! 😊

    Excellent apartment and the staff involved in preparing it cut no corners. It is a fabulous apartment and the location is second to none. We have many a time over the years, looked for this destination, but have always come up short. Not this time, although it was the first week of December with the expected weather, we always had a warm, comfortable place to come back to. No issues during our stay and a big thank you for an excellent week.

    Beautiful home from home, felt lived in and loved. The wood Panelled room with an open fire and a wall of books was wonderful. The conservatory facing the sea was exceptional. Kitchen appliances simple and easy to use. Everything was perfect.

    This accommodation is stunning. All rooms are airy and spacious and I loved the eclectic decor throughout. The location is exceptional - loved my early morning coffee in bed, overlooking the sea - heaven! Our welcome pack was well received and it's content well thought out - the dog treats a nice touch too. Looking at previous, negative comments, I am unsure what some people really expect. Whilst on holiday, the last thing that I would do is use an oven or washing machine! Dishwasher smelly? All appliances that use water that are not used daily can have a smell of stagnant water - my washing machine included! The owner of this property is a nurse, so cleanliness and hygiene form the basis of her profession. I found everything to my liking and I am known for being fastidious regarding cleanliness and attention to detail. I would have no hesitation is recommending this accommodation to friends and family and intend returning at some point next year.

    Beautiful property in a stunning location sadly let down by poor standard of maintenance and cleanliness. Such a shame as the apartment has some redeeming features for example the beds and bedding were top quality as was the welcome basket and fresh flowers in the rooms being a welcome touch. The kitchen is relatively recently upgraded it appears as was the sun lounge and the dining room. However the dishwasher was smelly and had food left in the filter with baked beans in the cutlery rack. Unfortunately the shower rooms have a lot of black mould and the toilets although superficially clean the bowls had not been deep cleaned in a while,we had to use bleach to clean the rims. Added to this the overall decor is old and tired with wall pictures festooned with cobwebs and dust.The tumble dryer had not had the filter cleaned in a while which was brought to our attention due to the smoke alarm being set off whilst it was in use.The potential of a fire was unnerving to say the least as we discovered that the filter and outlet hose were blocked right through to the outside wall outlet. We cleared this ourselves so that it was safe to use. Although there are TV's and CD's to play there was no visible signs of a DVD player or CD player to play the CD's on. It is such a shame as this could be an absolutely stunning property worthy of 5 star plus rating if only some time and money would be spent to upgrade all of the rooms,particularly the lounge/study and shower rooms. Further to this we had our pet dog with us and the "rules" regarding the dog are rather difficult to maintain as the main feature of the apartment is the front garden with sea views.Naturally we would want to enjoy the garden and the views and in hot weather (which we had) we needed the doors open.It is unworkable to not expect our pet to be on the lawn with us and to insist that she could only use the back yard (a long way from the front garden)It was evident from the lawn that previous tenants had not adhered to this "rule" as there were obvious tell tale signs. The framed notices throughout the property made it feel like we were staying in the old fashioned B&B's of a bygone era. Sorry but not worth the money .We have stayed in spotless and beautiful properties before for far less money. One observation from all of this is that it seems the housekeeper has far too much to do in too little time between lettings as the property (which includes the upstairs apartment we think)is huge and would take a team of cleaners to ensure it was tip top condition in the same amount of time. We would stay in the area again but not here sorry to say.This review is meant to be constructive and not malicious in any way.We genuinely feel that with just a few changes it could be made into a perfect retreat.

    I cannot recommend this apartment or the owner Mary enough. We travelled as a family with my sister who is very ill, we wanted a relaxing trip away and she wanted to see the sea. This apartment was absolutely perfect. With stunning sea views all day long and only a quick stroll away from town it was exactly what we wanted and more. The apartment is absolutely stunning and we had a fantastic stay. PS : if you need a cab - try Daves Taxi. Super friendly, reliable chap

    It was a lovely place to stay - and there was so much to do right on the doorstep - our car didn't move from the drive for most of the week as we walked into town and enjoyed everything there or straight onto the beach. The apartment was clean, bright and airy with plenty of equipment to make the stay enjoyable, a real home from home with the bonus of being able to look straight out to sea whilst having a cup of tea - also really good wifi and phone reception. Bridlington itself was a gem - The Spa has some great groups on, we saw ELO experience who were brilliant, Amazing Vegan and Veg cafe Whites Bakery, beautiful church and Bayle to look round, loads on the sea front including boat trips- clip and climb at the leisure centre - lovely cafes and shops too - the owner and housekeeper were really helpful and friendly and the little touches like milk and wine in the fridge and a lovely goodie basket were really appreciated.

    This is a lovely house, in an amazing location. There were a few problems during our stay such as the washing machine breaking down, and the duvet being winter weight in the height of summer. Our biggest disappointment was that despite the property having a beautiful front garden with a view we could not use it as only after booking and payment being received were we informed that dogs were not allowed on the lawns in front of the house. That said the house is large and comfortable with access to miles of beautiful beach right on he doorstep. I hope to visit again.

    Response on behalf of the owner; The washing machine has been replaced by our plumber with a new model which is more user friendly and less complicated to use. The front lawns facing the sea are indeed for use by our guests and pets. However when a pet soils the lawns it spoils it for all of other guests and I want all of our guests to have a truly memorable holiday. However for pets that have been caught short there is a paved large secure space at the back door and a hose is there attached to the wall to sluice the area down. The grass verges are seconds from the lawned gate and are also just seconds away from the beautiful south beach.

    On first appearance, as shown in the photographs, the interior had the WOW factor but soon realised the furnishings were not as comfortable as expected. Problems still existed with the oven (seal not fitted so loss of heat) and hob (slow) which the owner promised to deal with but too late for us. Décor slightly dated in some areas which require modernising/redecorating, although the owner may have plans to do as she has with the apartment upstairs (Crystal Cove). Biggest appeal of the apartment is the location, absolutely superb, overlooking the safe and expansive beach with the added bonus of being dog friendly. Despite the negatives thoroughly enjoyed our stay due mainly to location and half decent weather.
