Located in an amazing location to explore all of Somerset’s delights, The Coach House offers fine facilities complete with wheelchair access and storage for bicycles.

In the ancient capital of Wessex and central Somerset, The Coach House and Cedar Lodge both accommodate four guests, and adjoin the owners’ Grade II listed mansion. Ideally situated for exploring this delightful county, the centre of Somerton is easily accessible on foot. There’s much to enjoy in all directions; for guests with a thirst for knowledge there’s the Fleet Air Arm Museum or the popular historic Haynes Motor Car Museum, with its vast collection of classic cars. Within easy driving distance is Clarks Village, the famous Cheddar Gorge and Caves, Wookey Hole and Caves, the enchanting Glastonbury Tor and of course the city of Wells’ stunning cathedral with its Bishops Palace.

For a relaxing day out or a trip back in time, maybe the West Somerset Steam Railway will fit the bill, as it chugs its way through some of the most delightful countryside in Somerset. Along with many historic houses, such as Montacute House and Gardens and Forde Abbey and Gardens to name a few, you will certainly not be short of attractions to visit. Further afield, the spa city of Bath features prominent Roman baths, museums and shops, and if you’re heading southward into Dorset, there are a number of traditional seaside resorts scattered along the Jurassic Coast, such as Lyme Regis, West Bay and Weymouth.

For those who’d rather stay a little closer to home, there are many picturesque country walks, golf nearby, fishing and some warm and welcoming village pubs to wine and dine in. Beach 25 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

lovely cottage, unfortunately there was some traffic noise , noise from the boiler and excessive heat in the cottage due to the hot pipes running through to the main house making it unbearable and necessary to open all of the windows when in property . Also the bed in the main bedroom was uncomfortable and creaky. it is a shame because it is a beautiful setting and lovely house

Somerton is lovely village - the coach house is in nice position by Somerton court. You can hear traffic noise. The interior is pretty dated and 80s/90s interior finish. No dishwasher. WiFi is ok but needs to be positioned in middle of coach house to get signal throughout. Next door could not use their WiFi as it was no signal. Beds too soft and short so had to sleep on sofa. Lights were either too bright or too dim. No light switch at front door to sitting room. Drive out to right is dangerous into main road and very tight corner out of gate. Bit disappointed with the level of standard and won’t be coming back.

Had a lovely time and was a beautiful place. The cottage was a decent size and easily accommodated two adults one child and one dog. Only points to improve i would say are towls were a bit small and old. Didn't get the best night sleep as the bed was unbelievably noisy ans maybe a bit of a warmer welcome with a bit of guidence to the area would have been a nice touch. That said, lovely area and a very nice place to stay.

It was a very nice cottage. Convenient to places of interest. The beds were a bit on the hard side for us. The sofa could do with replacing as it very was hard to get out of. overall a very pleasant stay.

A most enjoyable stay in a comfortable, well-equipped cottage with plenty of character. Beautiful surroundings and plenty of peace and quiet. Walking distance to Somerton, which is an attractive town.

A beautiful cottage and house in lovely countryside settings. Very well equipped, everything you need for a perfect break away. Hosts were very friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. Good wet room facilities for disabled guests. Close to Wells and Glastonbury as well as Street.
