Best thing was having a pool. Didn’t think cleanliness was very good place tired. Garden needs attention and so does surrounding areas round pool particularly the over hanging shrubs - lots of leaves and debris in and around pool. Decking and pool steps dangerous. Not to be recommended. Plumbing inside poor d running taps, some wobbly taps and shower very small and not good pressure. Needs to be addressed.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments, as stated the paint is a little tired and set to be updated in the autumn. As to the other issues, your comments are a little unfair, we have an excellent cleaning team. However, it is an old house so it will never look as pristine as a new build with it's old beams, pammet floors, exposed brick, open chimneys and so much more prone to cobwebs no matter how hard you clean. The shower is in keeping with the rest of the property, it is a 17th century cottage and the rooms are all by today's’ standards, on the small size. The pressure on the water drops if the dishwasher is running/ and or the shower/washing machine a common feature with combi boilers. The pool was re-decked last year, it is gated with a hedge around it and trees, if there is a windy day then leaves will drop into the pool, there is a net to remove any leaves and guests are advised to cover the pool after use with the provided cover, it is also professionally cleaned once a week. There is a gardener who attends once a fortnight and keeps the gardens in a tidy condition.

Once we sorted the fly problem in the main bedroom on the first night everything was fine.

A great feel to the cottage with a spacious garden and a swimming pool (alas, it was too late in the year for us to use it). Generally, the cottage is well appointed although it does need some attention to some important details, eg a toilet which didn't work properly and a bedroom window blind that was left on the window sill for our arrival. However, the caretaker sorted (temporarily) the toilet and the blind was fixed for a day before it decided to fall off its fixings. But it didn't spoil the holiday. We certainly would recommend the cottage.

Enjoyed our stay, cottage was lovely, homely & the pool was an added bonus, flies are an issue however, maybe a fly trap could be purchased
