This was a lovely cottage, with more than enough room for the 2 of us and our 1-year-old son. It is getting a bit old, so the heating system is outdated, but everything was working (the washing machine, hob and fridge are new). Very comfy and warm double bed in a spacious bedroom. Fantastic views from the garden room to Beinn Eighe. Only one shop, and 1 restaurant, but also 2 locations for breakfast & lunch at walking distance. We would not mind at all coming back here.

No Wi-Fi, very small tv. Property being demolished spoilt the approach.

Nice basic hassle-free cottage, heating a bit lacking and no wifi isn’t such a good idea in a part of the country where 4G coverage can be spotty. But don’t miss the Whistle Stop Cafe nearby.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am pleased you found Smithy Cottage hassle free and ‘nice’. There is no Wi-Fi, which is clear on the booking site that there is no Wi-Fi mentioned. However, it is available, as detailed in the premises, just a couple of minutes’ walk at the Kinlochewe hotel and at the cafe at the garage. Re the heating, I have just stayed there for a week and have had absolutely no problem with it. It is such a personal thing. In a cottage, it is always sensible to be used to keeping doors closed.

overall a really lovely little simple cottage. We found it well equipped and comfortable, given it is in such a relatively out of the way place. The post office and hotel and the cafes in town made it all work really well. our only big complaint is the lack of WiFi. There was also no 3 or 4G network, so we had to go to the hotel to get internet, which is pretty challenging when trying to find out the essentials on weather and mountain routes.

Response on behalf of the Owner; So pleased you enjoyed the cottage. There is no Wi-,fi but as you say the hotel is just over the road a very short walk away.

Great location and well equipped cottage. Loved the mountain views, only downside was lack of Broadband and limited mobile coverage
