What we love

Description

Just 500 yards from the shoreline, visitors can enjoy private fishing and an abundance of attractions within easy reach.

These three adjoining holiday properties (refs SMMC, SMMD and UVO) are set in beautiful, landscaped grounds with spectacular views across the Sound of Sleat to Skye and are only 500 yards away from the shoreline and village of Balmacara. The properties are ideally placed for exploring some of the most dramatic scenery in the West Highlands and visitors can enjoy private fishing on hill lochs during their stay. Minutes away by car is the enigmatic Isle of Skye dominated by the Cuillins, Eilean Donan Castle, the pretty village of Plockton and the Five Sisters of Kintail. The breathtaking drive across the ‘Pass of the Cattle’ leads to the village of Applecross, recently featured in Monty Hall’s Great Escape on BBC television. Experience wildlife safaris such as marine life, sea/loch fishing, water sports and magnificent mountains for hill walking, climbing and biking. A network of National Trust paths, signposted from the grounds of Sgurr Mor, affords views of the surrounding area. Shop and pub 500 yards and excellent restaurants in and around Plockton.

Cottage was not cleaned to a high standard at all. No information folder regarding the cottage and how to work everything. No information about WiFi at all. Tatty stickers stuck on kitchen wall with spares information . Cottage had not been decorated for years. Faded wall paper dirty/stained carpets. Dirty walls and light switches had not been cleaned for years. The kitchen bench was sticky and the bedside table was filthy. I expect a poverty I have paid for to be cleaner than my own home. Owner has no idea how to run a self catering property. Not recomended at all!

The location is stunning and the property is very well equipped although the central heating is slightly confusing. The property there is a local shop in walking distance and a pub in the nearby hotel. There is a lovely garden with wonderful views, lovely shrubs and a really large lawn which is excellent for dogs. The only negative is the poor sound separation between Sleepy Hollow and the main house.
