This was our second visit to Slade Cottage and for us it is perfect! It has the most brilliant location with the beach a few seconds away. it's dog friendly which makes our dogs happy too! It's beautiful inside and out and has all that you need for a wonderful holiday. I can't recommend it highly enough. Mary welcomes you with the warmest of hellos and the heating is on for arrival day or night. We hope to e back as soon as we can.

Enjoyed a great family holiday at Slade Cottage. A lovely place to stay in a fantastic location, 2 minutes walk to a quiet beach and a short drive to Wellington Bridge and a well stocked supermarket. The nearby Red Door cafe also well worth a visit. The cottage has many great features and is set in attractive and extensive gardens, with a stream running alongside. A few reviews mention issues with cleanliness and the shower - the showers (two of them) are not spectacularly powerful but are perfectly adequate and we found the cottage very presentable (it's size means that it would be wholly impractical for every single surface to be thoroughly polished in the short period between changeovers). There are always a few extra utensils etc that individual guests may feel the benefit of, but no kitchen will cater for every individual's preferences (personally, could have used a wooden spoon/spatula) and the TV set up took a bit of working out and channels were limited (RTE, BBC 1 & 2, ITV Ch 4 - but no great hardship in such a great location). Would also have benefited from the provision of a guest reference book to suggest local amenities, rubbish collection day (Wednesday - alt weeks recycling/refuse) etc - there may have been one but we couldn't find it. In any case, caretaker Mary was friendly and helpfully on hand to advise. We didn't have the best of the weather but had great days out visiting Hook Head, Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny. The cottage was a pleasant 35 minute drive from Rosslare Harbour. Our first visit to Ireland and we were made to feel very welcome. Would love to return to both County Wexford and to Slade Cottage.
