Excellent touring base for central Somerset

Slade Barns are situated in a rural location between the popular Victorian seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare and the famous Cheddar Gorge and Caves, in an excellent location for touring Somerset. Both Little Wharf (ref W40909) and Sunnyside (ref W40908), which features a galleried double bedroom, are semi-detached, whilst Robin’s Corner (UK10975) stands detached with the convenience of an en-suite bedroom. They are ideally situated to explore and enjoy the many family attractions on offer. There is superb walking, scenery and wildlife up on the nearby Mendip Hills (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), sandy beaches at Brean and the seaside resort atmosphere at Weston-super-Mare. There is direct access to public footpaths and open fields.
There are a host of places to visit within easy driving distance, including the magical Glastonbury Tor, Clarks Factory Village and Hestercombe Gardens. Beach 5 miles. Shop and pub serving food and restaurant 1 mile. Please note: These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 12 guests.

    The cottage is absolutely lovely and is even nicer than the pictures suggest. The views from the bedroom are a treat in the morning and we were lucky enough to see a barn owl fly over the house from laying in bed. Thanks for a lovely break.

    The owner was very welcoming to this new and well equipped cottage. The only reason I wouldn't score a ten for 'comfort and equipment' would be the mid-quality and standard double size beds. The village shop and pub was quite a long up-hill walk - those younger and fitter than me might give it a go but we drove.

    Fantastic cottage, A couple of minor comments - the dinner plates don't fit in the dishwasher and a few more items of crockery would be handy to save using the dishwasher too often.

    Great location to explore this part of Somerset, from Weston super Mare, Cheddar, Burnham on Sea, the Quantocks to Bristol. Robin's Corner has a lovely outlook across the fields and is a comfortable and beautifully equipped brand new cottage with two bedrooms. Perfect base for exploring, together with all the comforts. James, the owner, is also very friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. Very highly recommended holiday home. We look forward to visiting again.
