The cottage is well furnished, comfortable and conveniently located for local pubs and shops. We struggled with the wooden stairs as our dog found them too difficult to navigate so we had to carry her down to the garden. The sofa in the lounge, although comfortable, is a little bit cosy when 4 adults sit on it. Both bathrooms are well equipped and there was always plenty of hot water plus the water pressure was good. We had a minor problem with one of the radiators during our stay, but the owners responded really quickly to resolve the issue. In terms of local pubs we would recommend the Pack o Cards and the Dolphin as excellent places to eat.

We had a wonderful time staying at Silver Cottage. It is very clean and has everything you might need. It has lots of space, yet still manages to feel cosy. Combe Martin is a lovely place to stay, and there are plenty of places to visit in the area. The owner was accessible and lovely really. We couldn't ask for more Thank you Di!

Poor parking area shared drive, neighbours asked as soon as we arrived after a long journey for the car to be parked close to a wall so you couldn’t get in or out of your car easily. Lack of stool/chair at dressing table, no DVD player even though it was listed as being there. Door in bedroom literally was right on the road. Door frame not finished probably and had nails sticking out of it. It stated a sea view but there wasn’t one!

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Silver Cottage. The picture’s provided by the booking agent represent the cottage and parking very well. I am sorry you found the parking inadequate. The drive is a very large shared drive, therefore you would only have been politely asked to move your car if it was obstructing the 14ft entrance. I have had no problems with guests parking estate cars and vans at the property. I will endeavour to get a chair or stool for the dressing table. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for bringing the DVD player to my attention. I have just upgraded the television in the lounge to a Smart TV and did not realise it would not have a scart connection to connect the DVD player. There is now a brand new HDMI DVD player. I am always happy to be contacted by my guests during their stay if they feel they need something that is not already provided. The Twin room does have an external door which opens onto the lane. Corner lane is a no through road (access only) therefore it is not a busy road. This was installed when the cottage was converted from a barn to ensure it conformed to building and fire regulations. The door is set back from the the road. When I met you the morning you left, you told me about the nails in the door frame. I apologised that I had not noticed them and assured you I would rectify the problem before my next guests arrived, which I did. Thank you for bringing the sea view to my attention. The neighbour’s willow tree is starting to obscure the sea view. I will ask them to prune the tree as soon as possible to ensure the full sea view (as per the advertisement) is restored for my future guests. The guests that have stayed since your departure have been happy with the cleanliness and comfort of the property. I clean the property myself to ensure it is very clean and as I would like it if I were coming on holiday. I am sorry this did not meet up to your expectations. Thank you for the feedback that you have provided which has enabled me to improve Silver Cottage where needed. I wish all my guests to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Silver Cottage.
