Silver Cottage is lovely barn conversion located in the popular seaside village of Combe Martin. The upside down configuration means the property makes the most of its position with views to the sea from the Juliet balcony in the living room. Downstairs, the master bedroom with en-suite has direct access to the enclosed garden and patio area. The village of Combe Martin has a good range of shops and local amenities. There is a great little beach which at low tide has some great areas to do some rock pooling. There is plenty to do within easy distance of the house. In Ilfracombe there are the Tunnel beaches, harbour and numerous shops and restaurants. Other attractions close by include the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle and the Lynton to Lynmouth Victorian cliff railway all make for a good day out. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best, and cleanest, surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor is a short distance away and on a clear day the views can be spectacular. There is a good range of walking for all abilities on Exmoor and the slightly more challenging South West Coast Path. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes and RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Great Torrington. Shop 600 yards, pub 500 yards, restaurant 200 yards.

Poor parking area shared drive, neighbours asked as soon as we arrived after a long journey for the car to be parked close to a wall so you couldn’t get in or out of your car easily. Lack of stool/chair at dressing table, no DVD player even though it was listed as being there. Door in bedroom literally was right on the road. Door frame not finished probably and had nails sticking out of it. It stated a sea view but there wasn’t one!

We had a lovely relaxing holiday despite the wind and rain at the beginning. Our dog also enjoyed our many walks and the treats that Di was kind enough to leave

Lovely cosy clean accommodation. Big kitchen, well equipped with everything you need and plenty of room to eat at the large table. Both bedrooms large with comfy beds . Ideal location for walking the coast path

We stayed in Silver Cottage over the Christmas week and were joined by our daughter and her boyfriend for a couple of days. The property was clean, bright and spacious for the 4 of us. There was lots of hot water from both showers and it was a treat to have a wood burner stove but after a couple of evenings we realised that it was too warm to light the fire in the cosy cottage, all amenities for cooking our own meals were provided. The beds were extremely comfy (especially the super king size bed). Our host was super helpful and friendly and even came over to give us some tips on lighting the wood burner. It was a short walk to the beach and shops in the village (2 shops even opened on Xmas day). My husband said the fish and chips from the chippie at the bottom of the road were awesome. The only thing to be aware of is when you are looking for the property for the first time, don't drive all the way to the top of corner road as it isn't that far up and if you go too far up like we did, unless you have a four wheel drive vehicle, you may have problems turning around at the top as it is extremely steep and narrow.
