Ideally located, just a short walk to Weymouth seafront and award-winning, golden sandy beach, this ground floor apartment is perfect for those wishing to leave the car behind and explore on foot. Ship Shape is ideally located just a short distance from Weymouth’s train station. Being on the main London or Bristol line, visitors can arrive by train or explore further afield.
Perfect for couples and families who like to be close to the beach and town centre amenities, yet located in a quiet residential area with private parking. Inside, the property is light and airy with French doors from the living room and main bedroom onto the patio area. It has been pleasantly decorated with a coastal theme, and has a patio that is great for enjoying the summer months. There are no steps to the front entrance of the property, so it is ideal for less mobile guests or pushchairs.
There is plenty to keep all the family occupied at Ship Shape as the local area has so much to offer. From the award-winning, golden sandy beach and nearby water sports, to the historic Georgian harbourside. Weymouth’s sea life centre and observation tower are also worth a visit.
Weymouth is well-positioned in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, so which ever direction you decide to explore, there are excellent coastal walks, hidden gem beaches waiting to be discovered and fantastic cliff top views. If you’re not up for walking far, why not jump on the Jurassic Coast bus to Poole or Exeter for the best parts of the 96-mile coastline. The most popular part is certainly the 18-mile stretch from Weymouth to Bridport, which follows Chesil Beach, the lagoon and numerous chocolate box villages along the way, including Abbotsbury.
Slightly further afield you can visit Westbay, Bridport, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Dorchester, the county town of Dorset, also known as ‘Thomas Hardy town’ is home to some Roman relics, Brewery Square and the pioneering architectural royal development of Poundbury, not forgetting the Isle of Portland, home to the 2012 London sailing Olympics and water sports venue. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Lovely comfortable flat, well equipped, parking was excellent, Supermarkets few minutes away, only thing rug in lounge should be either cleaned or replaced. Also Dustbin needed emptying!

We were disappointed that the 2nd bedroom did not have a wardrobe So nowhere to hang clothes. The oven seal is broken so the oven looses heat and takes a long time to heat up. I appreciate nobody wants to cook a ful meal but we wanted to cook a ready meal on our last night The oven will not turn on until the timer is set and I advise a note of this in the information folder would help

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks for the helpful feedback. It turned out that the element had gone so I've had a brand new oven installed - Happy cooking! Like most ovens it will not work if the digital display on the front of the oven is flashing. (This normally happens after a short power outage.) To reset the clock push the 'select' button in the middle of the display four times, until the '<' arrow is pointing at the clock dial, the bottom left of the four options. Then use the '+' and '-' buttons to set the time. On reaching the desired time, leave it for a few seconds and it will set to the time displayed. The oven will then work. Many thanks. UPDATE (18/03/20) - This winter we have added two swing arm clothes hangers in the second bedroom, and hope these will be useful.

Wonderful to have everything needed supplied. Plenty of space for the three of us. We did not use the car all holiday as it took a matter of 5 -10 mins to walk to the sea front by the pier (not actually a pier) bandstand. This area of the promenade had the facilities (including the best ice cream) needed for a comfortable day on the quieter area of the beach.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Glad you enjoyed this part of the beach - my favourite area too. Thanks for your comments.

says near station, when actually you are nearer 1 mile away from anything.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I'm sorry you found it further from the station than you expected. I travel down from London on the train, and walk back to the flat with a suitcase, when I come down to Weymouth myself. Thanks for raising your concerns.
