Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Ideal for couples or a small family, this single-storey former sheep shearing shed is the perfect base from which to explore Suffolk.

Shearers Cottage is situated on a working farm just 200 yards from the historical National Trust site of Sutton Hoo. This detached, former sheep shearing shed is perfectly located to explore the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Perfect for a small family or couples, it comes with two en-suite bedrooms, an open plan living space and a delightful south facing, enclosed courtyard patio.
The Anglo Saxon Burial Site which is National Trust’s Sutton Hoo, is worth a visit. The atmospheric, 7th-century burial grounds hold mystique and fascination to what lay beneath the earth.
Surrounding you is superb wildlife, and a walk through the woods offers glimpses of deer, squirrels and birds. Orford and Orford Ness are only 10 miles to the east and has something to offer everyone from walkers to sailors, cyclists, culture vultures and foodies.
Orford Castle can be found beside the River Ore, and is largely untouched by the modern world with history dating back to 12th century when the castle was commissioned. The National Trust and English Heritage all work within the area, and the RSPB sanctuary is extremely popular. Southwold, Framlingham and Constable Country are all easily reached from Shearers Cottage. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

A very well equipped cottage. Great to have 2 bathrooms and the beds were very comfy with lovely bed linen. Secure garden perfect for the dog and we enjoyed sitting on the patio for drinks etc. The owner made us feel very welcome and the milk and wine were much appreciated. Good location at Sutton Hoo and only 2 miles from Woodbridge.

Lovely little wooden clad bungalow in a leafy glade. Secure little garden for the dog. Lots to see and do in the area, including lovely walks around Sutton Hoo site. We were very lucky with the weather, so were out and about every day.

Larger accommodation than picture intimates (tardis comes to mind). Beds extremely comfortable. Grab rail in shower would be helpful, plus blinds in both en suites. Good location for exploring. Shingle Street a must visit.
