Shandwick Cottage backs onto a spectacular sandy beach and enjoys stunning views around the bay. This quaint fishing cottage has been thoughtfully and meticulously renovated, whilst retaining a wealth of traditional features, including solid wood flooring, exposed stone walls and cosy open fire. The single bedroom doubles as a second living room upstairs, with panoramic views across the sea. The garden leads directly onto the broad sandy beach. The little fishing village of Shandwick offers a variety of local amenities, including restaurants, pub and local store. Visit Skye, Isles or Orkney for a day out. Can be booked with W41627. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    5 star location , great for walking dogs on the beach , for a great chill out holiday , internet included but not stated on the booking web site ? could do with a 32" + TV ,

    fantastic week in a great house on a superb location. Bed was to short for us and the bathroom wasn't cleaned at arrival. But when you open the door to the garden and walk towards the seaside you forget eveything :-)

    The downstairs of the property is dark & dingy. No welcome pack to advise how to use heating or lighting.The cooker is so old that the numbers have disappeared for saying which ring you are using and the temperature. Stairs between kitchen & lounge have rounded chunks of wood over them making them slidy & a trip hazard. You have to walk through dark lounge to locate the light switch, many switches on the panel which do not seem to be connected to anything. Only one light fixture on stairs then you have to walk through upper lounge to bedroom to get a side light at bed as no bulb or switch for ceiling fitting. Low ceiling height upstairs, I am only 5ft 4 & bumped into ceiling. Lamp on deck hanging off wall. No hot/cold indicator on any of the taps. Bath hot tap would not turn, plumber had to be called. Only a two seater sofa in lounge which is ancient. Only a two seater chair on deck - this property is advertised for 3. Garden grounds not kept, over run with weeds. Downstairs full of dusty junk, dark rope put around everything, the ceiling, shelving even the toilet roll holder - dust catchers everywhere!!! Lounge windows not cleaned. The best part was the view and the open access to the beautiful clean beach - the locals were so friendly & helpful. Many lovely walks from the door.
