A wealth of attractions are within easy reach of this spacious cottage which is set in a pretty village

Peacefully located along a quiet residential lane, this delightful character cottage, the end one of a row, offers spacious, comfortable and well-presented holiday accommodation. The living area benefits from high ceilings giving it a light and airy feel and also has a feature woodburner. There is a lawned, well-maintained mature enclosed garden, a sitting-out area and parking is along the lane adjacent to the cottage. Set in a picturesque village near the green, it is only 5 minutes’ drive to Midhurst, which has various restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as Cowdray for polo. The quaint village of Petworth is also nearby with its plentiful antique shops and beautiful stately home, Petworth House with its Capability gardens where live music concerts and outdoor theatre can be enjoyed during the summer months. Goodwood, with its motor and horse racing, Fontwell races, Denmans, Uppark House and Gardens, Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Parham House, The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum and the South Downs are all within easy driving distance, as is Lurgashall with its vineyard. Chichester has its ornate cathedral, tea rooms, extensive shopping, festival theatre and harbour tours, or alternatively Arundel which also has a cathedral, famous castle and Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. The Witterings and other beaches are ½ hour’s drive and numerous golf courses within easy reach. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village. Nice country walks nearby and excellent pub lunches within 30 minutes' drive.

The owners have struck a great balance between providing good-quality home comforts and allowing their guests to make the house their own space. Everything you need; good cooking facilities; comfortable beds; great little woodburner; and a stack of films to watch!

We loved staying at Serendipity. The cottage had a good feel to it - with comfortable furniture and a very cosy living area. The rooms were a good size and the heating and log burner all worked perfectly. Beds were comfortable - we took our own pillows as a previous reviewer had said the pillows were uncomfortable but we did not need to use them as the pillows were wonderful. The next door neighbour was very helpful and friendly. The location is superb - especially if you enjoy walking. The local pub is extremely welcoming - the food is truly excellent and they are also dog friendly. The only downside we could come up with was the parking situation - although the owner says to park against the wall outside the property, all the neighbours consider the bit outside of their house as their own space, so were not happy when we parked there. However, there is plenty of parking around the corner on the village square so it doesn't really present a problem, but it makes for better neighbourly relations if it is clear from the start that there really is no parking outside the cottage.

Great cottage, excellent to stay, so beautiful inside! We were there with 3 cars and to park them, we had a problem. There is nearly no parkingspace for "normal" or "big" cars near the house. But that's the only problem we had. Great beds, great sofa's, ... top!!!

Just returned from a very enjoyable week at Serendipity with family and dog. Lovely cottage in peaceful village, lots of good walks in beautiful scenery nearby. Also took the short drive down to the coast to dog friendly beach, watched a game of polo at Cowdray park and took the Watercress Line steam train. All dog friendly, as are many local pubs and restaurants. My only suggestions for improving the cottage would be to get some thinner summer duvets and invest in some new pillows ... but these all minor points weighed up against all the positives. Would definitely recommend.

A very clean, comfortable cottage in a very peaceful village setting. The cottage is very well furnished a modern well equiped kitchen and very comfortable lounge / diner with big comfy sofas and a nice big dining table and patio doors onto a lovely garden. The bedrooms are bright and clean with very comfortable beds. There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer should you need it and a downstairs loo. The lane outside the cottage is very narrow where you can park but I parked a very short distance away on the edge of the green. The village is very quiet the green is just behind the cottage with a small children's play area. There are plenty of public footpaths around with some very pretty walks. There is a cricket pitch with pavilion and a bowling club. Stedham polo ground is only a stones throw away.
