Ground Floor:
The upside down accommodation at Selsed has electric instant heating and woodburner and comprises:
Rear level entrance via steps into
Open Plan Living Space: with deep cushioned sofas, colour Freeview TV/DVD and dining area.
Fitted handmade kitchen: with range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.
Lower Ground Floor:
Bedroom 1: King size bed with colour TV and en-suite luxury shower room with under floor heating, shower cubicle, hand basin, WC, mirror and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2: Super King bed adaptable to two singles with colour TV.
Bedroom 3: single bedroom. House bathroom: with shower over bath, handbasin, WC, under floor heating and heated towel rail.

All electric, woodburner, bed linen and towels are provided. Cot and highchair available. Wi-Fi access available.

Off road parking for two cars. Garden with seating available. Shared BBQ. Access to Tarn. Shared laundry area with freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer and secure bike storage and washing facilities. One set of logs for woodburner.

Nestling in the shadow of historic Selside Hall, built in the 13th/14th century, transformation of redundant Victorian farm buildings has been a true labour of love for the owner and his small team of craftsmen. Painstakingly and sympathetically converted with as much compassion for the environment as possible, this high quality barn conversion offers a peaceful retreat, just a short drive from the medieval market town of Kendal. A short walk to the delightful Longsleddale and Dales Way, Thomasin makes a super base for exploring the South Lakes with the Eden Valley and Yorkshire Dales easily accessible.

Selsed has its own garden area with views across Tarns and the fields dotted with livestock to the Howgills beyond. A shared enclosed BBQ area available to enjoy when our Lake District weather will allow .For those nature lovers among you, Selside Hall has an adjacent fresh water tarn stocked with fish and a haven for birds within the grounds – guests are welcome to enjoy a section of this area, ideal for quiet reading and picnics. Attention to detail and great styling have resulted in a charming retreat with much use of solid oak and other natural materials throughout. The open plan living space with woodburner and bespoke handcrafted kitchen offers all you will need to fully self-cater whilst the hotel quality bedrooms with luxurious en-suite on the lower ground floor offers quality beds dressed with sumptuous linens to ensure a good night’s rest.

    Beautiful location with more than you could expect to have available within the cottage. The owners could honestly not do enough for us. Only down side was that the local pub had closed down but that was through no fault of the owners obviously. Would definitely return. Thank you for everything xx

    Whilst the cottage could be amazing we were inundated with flies during our weeks stay which affected our holiday. It is well laid out, peaceful and a short drive to 2 Supermarkets. It has beautiful views. But the flies are a problem and had a negative impact on our stay. We were advised to keep windows and doors closed in the last week of July, and used several fly roll catchers, bottles of fly spray and fly swatters all supplied by the hosts, making meals and eating them was uncomfortable due to the flies.

    Location was ideal for us but transport is definitely needed. Whilst it was clean and well equipped there was definitely a fly problem over and above what you would expect in such a location even with all of the windows closed. Very picturesque setting, the gardens were lovely but we were disappointed that the owner decided to cut the grass at 8am on one of the mornings ; the lawn is level with the lower ground bedrooms.
