Disabled access to shower and only a few steps throughout ground floor area. Excellent for older people too.

Location is fantastic, right on the beach. Couple of things to note; hot water in kitchen runs quite slow and in the toilet, the cistern takes an age to fill. Not a problem for two but could be if more are sharing! Overall, cleanliness is acceptable but again could be better, especially the small kitchen window and blinds - very dusty. But saying all that, I would go back.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments, there is a fault with the factory finish on the kitchen window so we will be getting that sorted.

First of all can I say a massive thank you for letting us share your lovely cottage. Wow what a fantastic spot. Couldn’t be any closer to the beach. Felt like we had our very own castle for the week which was stunning. The cottage was lovely and spacious light and airy with lots of different spaces to snuggle in so brilliant if a few of you want to do your own thing. Home from home and very welcoming. Me personally I was glued to front windows watching the sea and glimpses of Arran in the distance. We didn’t have the sunniest of weeks but views were beautiful all the same. Cottage is a stones throw away from the local pub if you sneak in the back door. We were made very welcome as were are two dogs who were spoilt rotten. Great food and brilliant specials board. Cafe on the gorgeous harbour front too. Stunning dog walks straight from front door. We have booked again for a week of sea heaven early next year and can’t wait.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your very positive review; we will be welcoming you soon for your next visit when you can explore our wonderful beach again.

Needs updating. Could be cleaner, quite a few cobwebs around the place. Enclosed garden very overgrown, lots of trip hazards. Saying that probably more suitable for a family than a couple.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are sorry that your visit was not perfect. We are carrying out a program of refurbishment on the cottage which in parts is nearly 300 years old. Over the winter months we have painted most of the rooms in the cottage and put up a new garden shed and painted the old. We have new flooring in the entrance hall and bedroom. New flooring is due in the front bedroom and a new built in wardrobe in the fall. We have a regular gardener and I will check that this schedule is being maintained. The garden does grow very fast, especially with the recent good weather but we do prefer the green look as it keeps it private from neighbours and passing walkers. It is a lovely sun trap. The garden is wheelchair accessible with a ramp. We are aware that the metal foot of the whirly-gig pops up at the back of the garden but this is hidden under a rock to prevent trips. We try to keep on top of any tiny cobwebs and are reluctant to spray poison due to small children and pets that come to the cottage that may have an allergic reaction.

My only regret was that l should have booked two weeks instead of the one, the cottage was relaxing, even through it was VERY HOT outside, when the tide was in it you could just sit and listen to the waves crashing onto the rocks, there was a shop in the village or you could go a couple of miles to the co-op, l will be booking this cottage again in the future.
