From the Galloway Hills with their many hidden lochs, burns and waterfalls, to the beautiful Solway coastline with sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque villages. Horse riding, golf, sailing, fishing, cycling and walking are available in the area and with its famously mild climate and the balmy influence of the Gulf Stream, Galloway is home to some of the most beautiful and exotic gardens. Shops 150 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room. Kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 single with additional pull-out single. Shower room with toilet.

    Lovely little place with stunning view from kitchen short walk to sea and steam packet if you take the short cut very comfy stay fantastic amenities washer /dryer dishwasher double bed very comfy shower fine very peaceful area been to the isle before so knew would have to travel out to supermarket etc would stay again here

    Seaside Retreat is a sadly neglected bungalow in the middle of nowhere with little or no local amenities. The bedding in the small room although I believe had been washed, was in my opinion very old and only fit for disposal. The bedding in the double room was also past its best. The small room has two single beds with a small table between them of about 8 inches and what looks like a vegetable rack in the corner. There is no way the floor below the beds could be hovered due to lack of space. My concern is that animals are permitted at the address. The stone floor in the bathroom looks to be the original, it will never be clean again but would have benefitted from a bottle of bleach. The shower base also needs some upgrading. The kitchen is well equipped. The local shop is a joke, it maybe has one can of beans or one can of soup, I kid you not. I had to travel the 4 miles back to Whithorn to get a few groceries. There is a pub which is not cheap £6.50 for a glass of wine but then you are a captive audience, food is also not cheap In my opinion this bungalow could be brought up to a 'letting standard' with an outlay of as little as £500

    I read that we were almost steps away from the sea from the back door. Not So!! it is quite a distance. The accommodation could do with a step at the front door it is a very high step up, ditto the other way round you have a big step down. And 'cottage' really!? It's a pre fab. One of many in THE council estate it is situated in. Tisk tisk for the fibs.
