Seal View is named after the resident colony of grey seals that are often visible at low tide. The property has an open fire (if required), as well as a complimentary ’welcome’ drinks fridge. Burnmouth, St Abbs and Eyemouth all have working harbours. Eyemouth, 4 miles, also offers a sandy beach, and Coldingham’s lovely sandy beach, 6 miles, is much favoured by divers and surfers too. St Abbs also has the National Nature Reserve with its many sea birds, a must for any birdwatchers. Berwick, 6 miles, has lots of interest, from walks along the Elizabethan quay walls and museums including the Barracks and the Main Guard, to galleries, cafés, restaurants and bars. Visit some of the great houses at Paxton, Manderson and Floors, or explore Alnwick and Bamburgh castles. Also worth a visit are Seahouses and the famous Farne Islands. Good hill walking, cycling and fishing can be found in the area. Both Edinburgh and Newcastle upon Tyne are under an hour away by train or car. Shop and restaurant 3 miles, pub 1 mile.
