English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

This beautifully presented barn conversion complete with hot tub is in an idyllic location for families or couples holidaying together.

These stunningly presented, single-storey barn conversions (refs UKC1329, UKC1330 and UKC522) have a contemporary style that offers great accommodation for families or friends holidaying together. The properties are located in open countryside just over 4 miles away from the coastal village of Happisburgh with its iconic red and white striped lighthouse. Guests can enjoy the 1¼-acre grounds with a wildflower meadow and willow wigwams; explore the sandy unspoilt beaches of the Norfolk coast; marvel at the hundreds of seal pups at Horsey Gap Beach in the winter months; or visit the seaside town of Cromer, with its pier, and enjoy a day on the beach. There is a beach hut available for the use of guests at Seaglass Barns, which includes body boards, wetsuits, tea and coffee making facilities, beach towels and children’s play equipment. Once you have explored the coast, venture to the Broads which are only a short drive away. Wroxham, known as the ‘Capital of the Broads’, lets visitors hire a day cruiser to see all the pretty Broads’ villages. For children, a day out to BeWILDerwood at Horning is a must; this outdoor adventure park has zip wires, jungle bridges and lots more. Weavers Way is just a short walk from the barns and is ideal for birdwatching or walking. There is a fishing lake just 1 mile away, and day fishing tickets can be purchased at the lake. Gardeners will enjoy a visit to East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens with its acres of delightful and interesting gardens. There are National Trust properties in the region which are well a worth visit. Alternatively spend a day in the fine city of Norwich with its theatres, cathedrals, museums, outdoor market, cobbled streets and enjoy a fine array of shops and cafés. Walking, cycling, birdwatching, fishing and sailing are all available locally. Beach 5 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

The good Sea glass barn is well situated for access to the Broads. The property is stylish and has luxury features such as smart TV, bathrobes and slippers and hot tub. It's very spacious and the open plan style makes it a sociable living space. The beds are very comfortable and the area is very quiet, which means it's easy to get a good night's sleep. The kitchen is well equipped and the welcome pack was good and included prosecco, butter, bread, tea bags, bacon and sausages. The not so good There are no wardrobes in the property and hanging space in the bedrooms is limited. There is a lack of occasional tables to place drinks on in the living area. Conclusion We enjoyed a good week at Seaglass barn. It's stylish and well equipped.

We enjoyed our stay at Seaglass Barns. However we were disappointed that the hot tub was not up to temperature when we arrived. As we were only staying for the weekend we wanted to make the most of our time.

We had a wonderful stay at Seaglass barns. We loved the rural location within proximity of glorious beaches and come the start of the season lots of attraction. The barn itself is very well presented and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped as was the rest of the barn. It was also great for the dog properly ‘dog friendly’ and safe garden.

What a lovely place to stay, the barn was a great place to spend Christmas. The barn was everything we hoped it would be, spacious, clean, comfortable and really well equipped. It was excellent for our spaniel Hobbs who loved the secure garden, outside shower and dog treats that were provided. The welcome pack was a great touch with some lovely items for us to enjoy. The ban is set in a lovely location close to great beaches where you can see the seals with great local walks we even had a daily visit from a kestrel which the children found amazing as it often sat on the garden fence posts. I would highly recommend this barn to anyone and we are hoping to return in the summer time.

What a gem of a place. Right from walking through the door, the wow factor hits you. Fantastic design and so spacious and comfortable. The welcome pack was the best we have ever been left, including bacon, sausage, eggs, bread, butter, jam, milk and a bottle of sparkling wine! Each of the rooms are equipped with a lovely basket of towels And toiletries, with a towelling dressing gown and slippers. It really felt like the owners had thought of everything, with hot tub towels waiting by the door for ease of use. We were fortunate enough to be staying at the property without any neighbours next door and felt very private. The sky was incredible to sit and watch the stars as no light pollution. We had a visiting kestrel a couple of days too. The property has very good internet access and the tv was a smart tv, so had Netflix, Amazon, youtube etc. We were very impressed with the local Stalham, which is just a five minute drive and enjoyed having a look through the local shops. One of which only sells local Norfolk products. All of the people we met were lovely and friendly. Great part of the country to visit. We found the highlight on the last day at Horsey Gap, less than eight miles from the property to see hundreds of grey seals, some of which had only just had pups. £3 to park the car but we’ll worth it! There was a problem with the hot tub one evening and the owner was so kind and came out an hour later to sort. Very considerate and apologetic for the problem, which he sorted in no time. We loved our time at Seaglass Barn and would highly recommend anyone to stay. It was perfect!

Wonderful place but being over 6ft I hit my head on most of the chandeliers. Unfortunately, both showers badly leaked and the toilet in the family shower room is coming loose from the wall/floor as well as having a float that sticks meaning the cistern doesn't always fill with water.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner- Thank you for your feedback. We have taken on board your comments and both of the showers have been refurbished please see our Facebook page for pictures and the toilet has been repaired. Apologies for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
