Welcome to Seadog Cottage, a mid-Victorian terrace cottage in popular York Street. The accommodation comprises open plan living/dining room, Smart TV, well equipped kitchen, utility room with washing machine/dryer and separate tumbler dryer. There are two bedrooms upstairs one double and one twin and a family bathroom with shower cubicle.
Seadog Cottage is only a few minutes flat walk to Cowes High Street with its many restaurants, cafes and pubs as well as a plethora of interesting shops ranging from ice cream parlours, local butchers selling island meat, fish mongers selling locally caught fish, supermarkets and many small individual shops ranging from clothes, jewellery, chandlery, charity shops, hardware to antiques.
Seadog Cottage is dog friendly with a delightful garden and there are numerous attractive walks directly from your door, either up the Medina along the riverside to Newport, or just up the road near the corner shop where there is a small dog friendly park. Alternatively, walk along the High Street and either up to Northwood Park, which is delightful or along Cowes promenade towards the beach at Gurnard for a swim or an ice cream.
Seadog Cottage is very close to the marinas and Cowes is renowned for its sailing regattas. For history and culture, you could visit Queen Victoria’s former residence at Osbourne House, or take a tour of Carisbrooke Castle. The Needles rock formation and coloured sands at Alum Bay have plenty to keep your family occupied. East Cowes Ferry terminal is ½ mile from the property, this service starts at Southampton.
The holiday really starts when you step off the ferry.
