Description

Explore Hastings’ rich smuggling history from this property, or why not spend a day on the beach at Camber.

Residing on the outskirts of Hastings, one of the five Cinque Ports, and enjoying an elevated position, is this stylish, terraced holiday home. From the first floor bedroom window at the rear of the property, you can see the sea in the distance and on a good day Beachy Head. Ideally placed for heading into the historical Old Town of Hastings, just a 10-minute drive, or why not catch the bus which stops a couple of minutes away. The Old Town, with its half-timbered buildings and narrow passageways known as ’twittens’, offers restaurants, cafés and antique shops to browse. Visit the Shipwreck Museum and Blue Reef Aquarium, or see the iconic, black net huts and the caves deep in the West Hill, and discover Hastings’ smuggling past. In the other direction, don’t miss Battle Abbey, built by William the Conqueror as a penance, ordered by the Pope as a result of the battle fought between William Duke of Normandy and the Saxon King Harold, England’s would be rulers, on the 14th October 1066. Explore the golden sand dunes at Camber or the cobbled market town of Rye, featured in the television adaptation of E.F. Benson’s 1930s comedy drama, Mapp and Lucia. When you return to the property, soak up the last rays of sunshine on the decked terrace in your south-westerly facing garden, where you can plan another exciting day’s activities. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living room with French doors/dining room with wooden floors. Kitchen with tiled floor. Separate toilet. First floor: 2 double bedrooms (one 6ft zip and link can be twin on request). Bathroom with shower over bath, shower attachment and toilet.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed lawned garden with terrace and furniture. Barbecue. Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. Welcome pack and doggy extras. No smoking. Please note: There are 4 steps to the garden.

This cottage was lovely, it was amazingly clean and full of homey touches. Well decorated and clean throughout. It has a lovely patio garden. The super king size bed was fantastic and really comfortable. Easy access to places to visit. The owner was very pleasant and helpful and had left a loaf of homemade bread and some homemade scones which were delicious. The only downside is that the house is close to a VERY busy road and you can hear the traffic at night, even in the back bedroom.

A very good stay, except for the weather! A few too many ornaments & other "bits & pieces", perhaps

A lovely, modern holiday cottage with all mod cons. Beautifully decorated and a great base for anyone visiting Hastings.

Lovely decorated house, will all the facilities you could need for a short break. There is a pub in walking distance pub unfortunately they are not dog friendly, and shops are quite a distance away from the accommodation. There are some in Hastings itself. Scones and homemade bread on arrival was a nice touch, and the owners were very friendly. We had a great time relaxing of an evening in this cosy house, would return again.
