My husband and I and our dog absolutely loved staying at the cottage. The house is exceptionally comfortable. The location could not have been better. Amble is lovely in any weather. Plenty of dog walking areas on the doorstep. Shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants are within walking distance. Warkworth castle, Alnwick, Bamburgh and Lindisfarne are well worth visiting. We hope to stay at the cottage again.

This is a comfortable and practical cottage for people who are really wanting a self catering option. There is a lot of kitchen equipment that most holiday cottages don't offer. It was great to be able to put a piece of excellent brisket, from the local butcher, into the slow cooker before we went out for the day. Also there were 3 ways to brew your fresh coffee (pick up some locally roasted from the huts on the harbour). Some people have commented that they found the sofas hard, I would say they were pleasantly firm and supportive and the recline option was a bonus. Amble is a great place to visit - please make sure you support the local businesses during your stay so that it doesn't lose its authenticity

We very rarely return to the same place twice, however, this was our second visit and we are thinking of booking it again for next year. Great location, quiet, very near to the harbour and the shops. The restaurants are great and the locals are very friendly. The house is just a regular family home, nothing fancy, but has everything you want. I have read a couple of negative reviews, yes the sofas are quite hard, but if you have a husband like mine that takes you off on long walks, then the recliners are a godsend. I have never rented a place before where the kitchen is so well equipped, which I think is great. Someone mentioned only one cupboard to store food, true, but we got everything in and there is plenty of work surface to put stuff. Beds are comfortable, heating works and plenty of hot water. If you’re looking for 5 star at this price then its it’s never going to happen. One final thing, people mention the parking. If you’re someone who wants their car outside your house and not wanting to walk 10 yards down the road then I would suggest looking for somewhere with its own parking. Saying that, we pretty much parked outside either our house, or the house next door ( they don’t have a car).
