Interesting places to visit nearby are Loftus Hall, reputedly Ireland’s most haunted house, which offers guided walks and holds themed nights such as tapas/wine, and the fabulous Hook Lighthouse, the world’s oldest and ’flashiest’ operational lighthouse, both within a 5-minute drive or a leisurely scenic coastal walk away. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Approximate distance to Cork Airport is 181 km.

Cooking for our family was a little hard with only small pots and one tiny knife... It took the cistern forever to fill up again after flushing. We found this a bit annoying. Therefore only an 8 for equipment.

THE COTTAGE WAS EXCELLENT APART FROM THE FACT THAT IT DID NOT HAVE BLINDS ON THE KITCHEN AREA. I HAD TAKEN MY ELDERLY MOTHER WHO SUFFERS FROM EYE PROBLEMS AND THE GLARE WAS FOR HER UNBEARABLE. YOU COULD NOT USE THE KITCHEN WHEN THE SUN WAS OUT AS WORKTOPS AND SINK BECAME SO HOT YOU COULD NOT USE IT. THE FRIDGE DID NOT HAVE AN ICEBOX WHICH WAS A BIT OF A PROBLEM DUE TO THE FACT THAT NOTHING COULD BE KEPT FROZEN. I HAD TWO ELDERLY DOGS WITH ME - COULD THE AREA DEDICATED TO DECKING NOT HAVE GATES TO ENSURE THE DOGS WERE KEPT IN? AN EASY SOLUTION I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. NO WI-FI POSED A PROBLEM FOR MY TEENAGE GRANDDAUGHTER. COULD THIS NOT HAVE BEEN STATED ON THE WEBSITE WHEN I WAS CONSIDERING YOUR PROPERTY FOR RENT? MALACHY WAS AN EXCELLENT CARETAKER AND VERY HELPFUL. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOUR PROPERTY. WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR STAY AND WOULD DEFINITELY COME BACK.
