This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

An ideal base for a family or couples wishing to explore this south east corner of Ireland, with sea views, beaches and many places to visit.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday in the magical Hook Head area of Wexford, this detached holiday cottage has a large decking area with far reaching views across to the sea. A 10-minute stroll takes you to a beautiful secluded cove, just one of 14 sandy bays in the area, whilst on site, amongst the well kept manicured grounds, there are tennis and soccer courts, two children’s playgrounds and picnic areas with barbecues for al fresco dining. Interesting places to visit nearby are Loftus Hall, reputedly Ireland’s most haunted house, which offers guided walks and holds themed nights such as tapas/wine, and the fabulous Hook Lighthouse, the world’s oldest and ’flashiest’ operational lighthouse, both within a 5-minute drive or a leisurely scenic coastal walk away. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Loved the area and hookless site but the cottage was disappointing. There were curtains missing in the lounge downstairs and no blinds in the kitchen area which means everybody can look in.The lounge wasn't very comfortable and could do with a better sofa.Just feel it generally needs a bit of tlc.

Response on behalf of the owner; Very appreciative of the comments. We have the curtains just didn't get an opportunity of putting them up. With regard to the large window overlooking the kitchen, I believe that is a feature of the cottage, it is designed to give access to the lovely vista which I think would be curtailed by putting up blinds. I believe the cottage would lose some of that open space and panoramic outdoor feel if we put up blinds. There are very few people walking past the cottage - it is at the end of the facility - and am reluctant to do so. This is the first complaint I have received re this issue but I take on board the matter. We hope to upgrade the furniture in the living room which is probably too clunky and large. Many thanks for the comments which are most welcome
