This was such a good week! The weather forecast had been so full of doom and gloom-indeed it was very cold every night with ground frost most mornings-but the sun shone every day and we were able to walk from the door as we'd hoped to do. The network of footpaths close by is extensive in every direction and what wonderful countryside it is! The cottage, being detached and elevated, is just ideal. We loved the spacious living room, finding the chairs comfy and felt very much at home. The beds were fine, the temperature plummeted overnight so we did leave the ticking-over. No doubt when the trees are in full leaf there would be less light in the living room, but we found it very homely and comfortable, especially when the log fire was burning. The TV worked, kitchen equipment no problem-except the fridge hadn't been de-frosted for many a month and that was a job I had to do on arrival.

Beautiful location - very peaceful, but no shop or pub within easy walking distance so you need to be prepared to drive out often or bring plenty of provisions with you. No Wi-Fi or phone signal. The main living areas of the property were a bit gloomy and could do with modernising as it felt a little dated.

A rather tired old cottage in need of upgrading & decorating. Very dark, slightly smelly, not very clean. Garden very unkempt Level of equipment very low, no response from Owner to being told the washing machine did not work. Location very tranquil and quiet, lovely scenery, nice walks for dog nearby

The cottage is ideal if you want to get away from it all. It takes more than a few minutes to get back onto better roads & very few cars pass by. You also feel very cut off as mobile phones don't have any signal & there is no wifi. The tv signal is also poor & sometimes non existent. On the plus side we enjoyed the cottage & had bbq's on the front lawn with the setting Sun. On the negative side the back garden was unkept & in shade due to overgrown trees & bushes. This gave the whole cottage a feel of neglect, & in need of some tlc.

Dangerous patio with loose paving and Garden flower borders overgrown and full of nettles and brambles made use of the garden area difficult

Landline/payphone not working, which when you have no mobile signal, can be a bit of a worry. Mouse droppings evident on kitchen worktops and backs of sofas, which was slightly off putting. Otherwise, a very lovely place to stay if you want nothing but quiet and a place to just to get away from it all.
