Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in this cosy cottage for two, where you can explore the 70-acres of natural grounds and woodland.

Set in 70 acres of beautiful pastures leading to the Coombe Valley. As the name suggests, Sanctuary Farm Cottages provides a wonderful sanctuary in which to relax and unwind. Converted to a good standard, these four pretty barn conversions, built using authentic materials, retain plenty of character with vaulted ceilings, exposed stonework and oak wooden floors. The holiday cottages are set on a mixed working farm and have been individually decorated to provide an ambience of peace and tranquillity. Woods Close (ref 17381) is perfect for families and has its own private balcony and sitting-out area boasting wonderful views. Apple Tree Cottage (ref 18512), Orchard Close (ref 17380) and April’s Cottage (ref UKC3384) are all ideal for couples. Each one different, they offer couples a relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. Guests are free to wander the woodlands and natural grounds or take the 1½ mile walk through woodland which leads to the sandy dog friendly beach at Duckpool.
There is a profusion of cliff, beach and moorland paths for walkers to enjoy - why not start with the coastline’s Heritage Trail. The cottages are ideally placed close to the spectacular National Trust Coastal Path, which boasts access to superb bays, beaches and coves. Tamar Lakes is just 6 miles where you will find coarse and trout fishing, sailing, wind surfing and canoeing. The pretty village of Kilkhampton with its beautiful church is just 1½ miles and offers two pubs, a supermarket, butchers and a good range of village shops and take-away food outlets. The pretty fishing villages of Port Isaac, Tintagel and Clovelly are close by and there are many National Trust properties in this stunning location. For family fun don’t miss the The Big Sheep and Milky Way Adventure Parks or for an adrenalin fuelled day for young and old why not try The Ultimate Adventure Centre or the North Devon Wake Park for water sports fun. Bude, 5 miles, has shops, pubs, restaurants and facilities for golf, swimming and ten pin bowling. There is horse riding in the village and there are four golf courses within a 30-minute drive, including the Ivyleaf Golf Course which is just 3 miles away. Beach 1½ miles. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

Unfortunately there is not a proper garden although it is advertised as with a garden and we had a dog with us which make our stay quite difficult.

We had a lovely few days here for my 60th birthday, we had the mini beast from the east bringing a fluttering of snow...

fabulous accommodation, warmly welcome with cream tea laid out for our arrival which was delightful. Have already recommended this cottage and will continue to do so. Fully kitted out with everything you could need: home from home. Would definitely return ourselves too. Thank you

Overall, a great place to stay with very friendly and helpful owners. The location totally suited our aims of walking a particular stretch of the SW coast path. A couple of minor tweaks could be looked at though: couldn't switch the electric cooker off at the wall switch; the downlighters for the work top didn't work; the shower thermostat at maximum was warm rather than hot (but that didn't matter too much as the bath water was wonderfully hot!) These points didn't detract from us enjoying the stay at the cottage. Please thank the owners for us.

Lovely cottage on a farm. Nicely equipped and decorated. Lovely walks nearby. We enjoyed meeting the local cats. Owners friendly and were interested to find out if we had enjoyed the cottage.
