We had a lovely welcome and the cottage is in a wonderful country location with complete peace and quiet although only 10 minutes away from Sherborne and 5 minutes from the local pub. The cottage was a good size with a nice, comfortable open plan living area with open fire and a large TV. We just felt compared to other cottages we have stayed in it lacked a little attention to detail and many fixtures and fittings are at the stage where they need replacing. The oven door was broken, with the glass front falling out when opened, and the open fire wasnt clean and laid and was unable to be used on our first night as there were no firelighters and useable fuel provided. It also would have been nice to have had some milk in the fridge for a cup of tea on arrival which we have always had in other cottages. We did have a nice, realxing weekend away and enjoyed the cottage but just felt perhaps it needed a little more care and attention to make it the standard of previous cottages we have stayed in.
