The cottage is lovely and it had everything we needed. It was out of the way which is perfect for us. The nearest supermarket wasn’t too far. The only thing I’d say is that the 9am checkout time was too early. Instead of enjoying our final night, we spent it packing. 10am would have been much better.

The cottage is off the beaten track which suited us- we were very happy to be way from the hustle and bustle of more well known parts of the Lake District. Ulverston is about 15 minutes car drive away and this is the closest place for shops/eateries etc. The village pub is a 10 minute walk across the field opposite and is ok but not suitable in the dark we would say. You can walk around the road but much longer walk and not so safe. The pub is ok- good beer/wine and welcome but food very mediocre- we found best places to eat locally in Ulverston. Steam railway is again walking distance across the field or 5 minutes in car so great way to explore further to Bowness and Ambleside without having to drive. Cottage is very well equipped- kitchen excellent. Beds very clean and comfortable, bedrooms lovely, airy and cosy- lovely to have wash basins in each bedroom. Garden-lovely views and can imagine lovely to sit out when weather good. Downstairs bathroom in need of a little updating but everything clean and works. Utility room fabulous for wet gear and muddy boots- we used it as our main door throughout the week to protect carpets. Washing machine and dryer great too- our week was very wet. If you want lots of TV choice, the television is in need of updating but not a problem for us as we don't watch a lot of TV. We used the open fire which was a lovely addition. Overall we would go again. Quiet and very restful.

Lovely cottage unfortunately it rained every day apart from one the entrance to the cottage is very narrow not wide enough for a large car we didn't use the garden much due to the weather it would have been a different holiday with a bit of sun. Alan and kathy
