Welsh Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above..

Come and relax in your own private hot tub with a glass of wine and enjoy uninterrupted views of the beautiful River Teifi.

Lying peacefully on the banks of the glistening River Teifi within extensive grounds and on a 91-acre working farm, these traditional, Welsh barn conversions (refs JUK, JUL, OAM and OFA) have been converted to a very good standard and offer a perfect base for a family or couples looking to explore the dramatic coastline and rugged mountains of west Wales. Conveniently located just 2 miles away from the charming, market town of Cardigan, Rosehill Farm is situated well off the beaten track and is surrounded by rolling terrain where horses, goats and lambs call home. On the approach to the farm, guests will be greeted with spectacular views of the River Teifi, which is famously renowned for its freshwater salmon and trout fishing, and superb water based activities including kayaking and sailing. Each cottage has been sympathetically restored to uncover much of its original charm and character, including exposed beams and stone walls. Outside, guests can relax on their own private patio area, perfect for unwinding after a busy day’s adventure whilst watching the red kites and peregrine falcons soar over the magnificent scenery.
Close to the iconic Pembrokeshire National Park, guests can ramble the majestic Preseli Hills and discover picturesque walks and ancient monuments, including the Bronze Age burial chamber of Pentre Ifan Dolmen, which stands beautifully in rugged terrain. The nearby market towns of Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen are all rich with Welsh culture and offer a selection of traditional pubs, boutique and antique gift shops, along with some restaurants waiting to be explored. The magnificent coastline is just a short drive away and is home to golden beaches, horseshoe coves and the pretty coastal towns of Newport, New Quay and Aberaeron, which are set in tranquil fishing harbours where bottlenose dolphins and seals can be spotted on a clear day. For an interesting day out, take a scenic drive to Britain’s smallest city of St David’s and discover its 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishops’s Palace, or take a sea safari around the off-shore island of Ramsey, cruising close to seabirds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Shops and pub 2 miles.

Open-plan living/dining room with sliding patio doors overlooking the river and garden. Kitchen area with modern fitted units. First floor (sloping ceilings lobby only): Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower cubicle and toilet.

The location is amazing, one could never tire of the view and wildlife. Sitting in the hot tub or on the patio watching the otters and bird life was truly a wonder. First impression of the cottage is good however the lack of attention to detail let it down. Unwashed pans and kitchen utensils, the oven had been used and needed cleaning, when we turned it on the spilt fats etc... gave off so much smoke that we had to turn it off and it was unusable. Only two disposable cups for use in the hot tub, the wood for the burner was wet and Unlightable so we had to purchase wood from a local garage. The vacuum cleaner was broken. The washing machine is shared by not just the cottages but the owner so finding a free slot is difficult and we had no climb over the large volume of dirty bedding on the floor to use the machine. All this aside it’s a beautiful place which with some focus and attention to detail would be truly amazing.

A lovely location, with great views from our lounge & hot tub. Not a great deal to do in Cardigan but a great place to relax & do nothing, which is what we wanted. Host very welcoming & cottage well appointed with everything you need.

Wonderful break at idylic Teifi cottage. The location right on the river was amazing. Lucky enough to see otters and herons on the little island in the river. Lovely days at many gorgeous beaches then back for a glass of wine in the hot tub so relaxing. Owner Nici most helpful but not in any way intrusive. Cottage very comfortable and wood burner excellent despite it being very cold outside. Do not listen to the moaning Minnie’s I don’t know what some people expect! Yes it could do with WiFi but a break from that is no bad thing. Will definitely be back.
