Description

Enjoy use of you very own private hot tub, watch the stars with a glass of wine and take in the views of the sublime Welsh countryside.

Lying peacefully on the banks of the glistening River Teifi within extensive grounds and on a 91-acre working farm, these traditional, Welsh barn conversions (refs JUK, JUL, OAM and OFA) have been converted to a very good standard and offer a perfect base for a family or couples looking to explore the dramatic coastline and rugged mountains of west Wales. Conveniently located just 2 miles away from the charming, market town of Cardigan, Rosehill Farm is situated well off the beaten track and is surrounded by rolling terrain where horses, goats and lambs call home. On the approach to the farm, guests will be greeted with spectacular views of the River Teifi, which is famously renowned for its freshwater salmon and trout fishing, and superb water based activities including kayaking and sailing. Each cottage has been sympathetically restored to uncover much of its original charm and character, including exposed beams and stone walls. Outside, guests can relax on their own private patio area, perfect for unwinding after a busy day’s adventure whilst watching the red kites and peregrine falcons soar over the magnificent scenery.
Close to the iconic Pembrokeshire National Park, guests can ramble the majestic Preseli Hills and discover picturesque walks and ancient monuments, including the Bronze Age burial chamber of Pentre Ifan Dolmen, which stands beautifully in rugged terrain. The nearby market towns of Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen are all rich with Welsh culture and offer a selection of traditional pubs, boutique and antique gift shops, along with some restaurants waiting to be explored. The magnificent coastline is just a short drive away and is home to golden beaches, horseshoe coves and the pretty coastal towns of Newport, New Quay and Aberaeron, which are set in tranquil fishing harbours where bottlenose dolphins and seals can be spotted on a clear day. For an interesting day out, take a scenic drive to Britain’s smallest city of St David’s and discover its 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of Bishops’s Palace, or take a sea safari around the off-shore island of Ramsey, cruising close to seabirds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Shops and pub 2 miles.

Open-plan living/dining room with doors to small patio and sloping lawns beyond. Kitchen area with modern fitted units. Conservatory. Double bedroom with en-suite wet room and toilet. First floor (sloping ceilings throughout): Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with toilet.

Nice owner very accommodating, but the cottage was very dull set in a lovely place, shower kept backing up, were told it was because of the rain it was'nt, you could tell from the black mould around the sink unit it had been happening a long time, not many home comforts, electricity kept tripping, no wi fi, could have been cleaner windows full of cobwebs, not worth what we paid hot tub area was filthy, but that was clean thank god. will not go back.

Overall, we had a good time on our holiday, but we found that we had to buy a lot of the things that would usually be included with a self catering cottage (dish cloths, other cleaning supplies), and there was wood for the fire, but no lighter/matches or kindling so it wasn't easy to get the fire going. Given the price, I would have hoped some basic cleaning things and fire starting would be included. The hot tub was nice, but felt a little overlooked by the main house (though I doubt they would be looking out at us). We booked this location as we had brought our dog and wanted a pet friendly site, but on arrival we were informed that she could not be outside without a lead. This was understandable as this is a working farm and there are the animals that live there who roam free - but it would have been nice to have an area that guest dogs can do their business without being tethered to a human. The views onto the Teifi were lovely, and the lack of noise at night was wonderful. There was a nice little area just by the river that was lovely for a chill as well.

We had a wonderful time at Rosehill Farm. You have to bear in mind that this is an old cottage probably a barn conversion so you have to expect rustic. Yes there were a few cobwebs in the old slotted windows but so far away from the touch because of the thick stone walls they weren't an issue. The farm is on the banks of the river Teifi so you could sit in the garden and watch the tide come and go. Access is down a long farm track so there is no noise apart from the river. We would stay there again.

Had a wonderful weekend here with a group of friends. The beautiful weather and scenery made for a fantastic visit! The privacy of the hot tub and the size of the grounds for us to sunbathe on was just perfect for us. Ms Evans, the caretaker, could not have been more helpful and we saw her just the right amount- at the start and end of the trip. We are quite a loud bunch when we get together and she raised no concerns which was appreciated. An amazing visit and will definitely be back!

We had the best weather, very hot couldn’t of wished for any better. Owner was very welcoming and friendly, left us to our own devices but was there if we needed her! We had stunning views and secenery around us and there was also two goats and the owners dog to be allowed to run around the farm! Could do with some room for improvement on a few appliances i.e. cooker and fridge. Also could do with thinner bed lining for the hot weather. Other than that everything was perfect and I would defineity look into going back there!

Beautiful location!!!Comfy cottage. Downstairs bedroom was short of cupboards/drawers to store clothes for a fortnight. Could do with some way of containing dogs - gates? We used chairs!

We had a lovely long weekend at Deri cottage. Even though the weather in March was not the best there was still plenty to do. Our two kids loved the hot tub as did we and our dogs enjoyed running around in the field alongside the cottage. The log burner was a nice feature too and kept us cosy at night. We would go again.
