Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Perfect for nature lovers and walkers, this detached, eco-friendly lodge has a private hot tub and lies close to many historic houses.

Situated in a rural position with outstanding views across the Somerset Levels, Rose Lodge is set within the owners’ grounds, near the village of Aller, and lies 1½ miles from the artisan town of Langport. It has been lovingly converted from a former mobile home with cedar cladding and double glazing. After a day spent exploring this beautiful part of the country, you can relax in the inviting hot tub and unwind whilst savouring the outstanding 180-degree view across the Somerset Levels. There are lovely country walks over rural footpaths straight from the door, fishing, golf and quaint village pubs nearby. Within easy driving distance are many historic houses such as Muchelney Abbey, Forde Abbey, and National Trust’s Montacute House and Tintinhull House.
The Somerset Levels, with their abundance of wildlife and nature reserves, are on the doorstep, or you can explore the many other places of interest. Try some retail therapy at the shopping outlet of Clarks Village; discover Glastonbury with its enchanting tor and abbey; or drive on to the cathedral city of Wells with its Bishops Palace and character shops. Further afield, the Roman spa town of Bath is well worth a visit, as well as the county town of Taunton, and further on, the Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park. If you have time, spend a day or two in west Dorset and explore the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast. You will have much to do for a fulfilling holiday. Beach 22 miles. Really nice owners and the location was quite nice. It's a converted caravan type of property. Our family of two adults and one child still found things a bit on the small side though. Would be fine for a couple if your ok cooking in a small space or plan to eat out every night. If you have stayed in a caravan before then you know what to expect in terms of bathroom etc Certainly can't fault it for what it is and it's furnished well. Hot tub is a nice touch, we have never had one before so can't comment too much, view from the tub is fantastic but be careful if you have children, we found the tub to be very hot indeed. It was just about ok as an adult but was far too hot for our ten year old. I wouldn't stay here again but that isn't because anything was wrong as such. If your looking for something along the lines of the above you wouldn't be disappointed. We would have liked just a little more space but it certainly wasn't enough to ruin our holiday. We probably have just been very lucky with our previous cottage holidays.
