Rose Cottage is situated on a working farm in the heart of the Sutherland countryside. Here there are a good selection of local shops, including a supermarket, restaurant, pubs, cafés, beach, harbour, golf course, train station with trains to the far north and south to Inverness, and a distillery. Dunrobin Castle, seat of the Dukes of Sutherland, is also in Golspie.
There are further facilities in Brora, the next seaside town along. Here you can find a superb sandy beach, championship golf course and distillery. Rose Cottage is situated in an elevated position just a few yards from the renowned North Coast 500 route, which follows the dramatic coastline up to the far north and across to the west. There are lovely walks close by, with nearby Loch Fleet Nature Reserve, Ben Bhraggie hill, and mountain bike trails and coastal trails all within easy reach.
